I love this song ( thank you

i_o_r_h_a_e_l! ). Been listening to that quite a lot lately, been watching past episodes of Supernatural with John in it. Love them all and oh, how I miss John Winchester!! And this song, just like Shinta said, it brings back haunting images of Dean with his father.

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved

The ballet and the waltz, the ghost dance and the slow dance, the one-step and the two-step, Dean's dance with his father is a joy to watch.

I have this huge thing for needy, wooby Dean. That trembly lower lip omg, his I don't know what to do, his Tell me, Dad, and I'll do it. ::Bliss::

*sighs* What I wouldn't give to have John back for that one final dance with Dean. Though I'm thinking with all that have happened since - hell, the apocalypse, Adam - Dean's dance with his dad would be of different steps altogether. Does he still need John's approval? Does he think he has already failed with what his father had entrusted him to do - Look after your brother. Does he even like John now? What he said to Sam in 'Jump The Shark' - You can think whatever you want - ouch. That could be taken in so many ways but my first impression had been one of disillusionment.

But whatever it is, I so, so badly want John back one final time, to see him take that ultimate final bow with Dean, in whatever capacity.
