Summary: The embodiment of Dean's fierce protectiveness - this is what it looks like.

Ever since aramuin's Queensguard, I've been hankering for some dragon!fics, and these two are just wonderful. But the dragon in it is not what you'd expect. For one, it's small, and the other thing is, Sam's the only one who could see it!

Sam's been accidentally cursed during a hunt after which he could see things, one of them being the dragon that attached itself to Dean. A beautiful story, one that is more about Dean and his protectiveness towards Sam rather than about the dragon per se. The moment when Sam let go of his abilities ... and the very last part of 'Here Be Dragons', in which the story is told from the dragon's pov, they fairly took my breath away.

Sam does, feeling strangely lighter as he lets each cable go until he reaches the last. He hesitates at that one because there are a lot of things holding it in place, duty and an underlying fear that if he leaves Dean alone for even a moment his brother is going to disappear like a puff of smoke chief amongst them. He forces those thoughts away and lets go and somewhere in the distance he hears the sound of wings.

I read Queensguard. And that's the first dragon fic I've ever read and I like it very much.
So these two are Dean and Sam? I will read them. Thanks Layne. :D

This one is not exactly a dragon!fic the way Queensguard was, this is more of Sam and Dean with a dragon in it. The dragon is real, it's not Sam's imaginations, and it symbolises Dean's protectiveness towards Sam, like a dragon!
