Of kings and bastard sons and princesses.

I've just been spoiled by something from Book 3 *weeps*

I'm wrecked but oh well, it's totally my fault for not paying attention to the author's warning. Yep, I'm reading the fanfics now because, a quarter of the way through Book 2 and Jon and Robb still haven't been reunited yet. Haha, so I'm totally slashing those two though in my defense I'm very much into the theory that Jon is actually a Targaryen so no incest there, half or otherwise. More like kissing cousins maybe ( and that is NOT a spoiler, don't worry ) but heh, who am I kidding ♥Jon/Robb♥

Are there any Jon/Robb fanfics must-read out there? I've gone through a few at AO3 but since none of the authors looked familiar to me, it's a bit tedious going through them one by one. I'd love to read one where Robb is the Alexander to Jon's Hephaestion. Eeeee King of the North and his Lord Snow *dies*

I don't mind a Jon/Daenerys either. Lol they haven't even met yet and I'm already pairing those two. Maybe it's because I love Jon Snow very much that the thought of him being the dragon princess's ( queen ) consort give me so much glee. Though how on earth they're going to hook up I have no idea. They do have a Mormont in common though ...

ION, I do hope that what I read about Kit Harrington ( that's my beloved Jon if you don't know it already ) being in the movie Arthur and Lancelot is true. Kit is Arthur and it's said that Gary Oldman will be Merlin. I don't know the actor who'll be playing Lancelot ( Joel Kinnaman ) but omg, Jon Snow Kit Harrington as Arthur!!!!!

And speaking of Arthur, I like the twist that they gave to the Arthur-Lancelot-Guinevere in the last episode of Merlin. I've been wondering how they were going to do that.

It's amazing the transformations they can make! I'm guessing most of the time they must go with the actors they feel can capture the spirit of the character. I think it's easier to try to make someone look fairly close to the book description, than find someone who already seems to look right but just doesn't "get" the character. I think they've done an outstanding job with the casting so far.

And yes, Kit Harrington does clean up well! Not that there's anything wrong with how he looks when playing Jon, but you know what I mean.

I certainly do!!!! And I thought it wonderful that he's roughly the same age as the actor who played Robb, maybe slightly younger, real=reel *happy sigh*

Actually, Jon was born before Robb. Not by much, but I think he was born before Robb was conceived. I think that's a major reason Catelyn was so unkind to Jon, thinking he could potentially be a real threat to her children's inheritance, or try to cause trouble in that way. The later books go into a bit more detail about the chronology of things, but we still don't know the identity of Jon's mother, though there are a few popular theories. I think the one you like is the most likely, and it's become the most popular theory, I'm pretty sure.

Keep in mind that even if you read slowly, you're likely to read Dances with Dragons long before the next book is finished, let alone published. I believe Martin isn't even going to start working on it till January.

Oh, Jon is older? I thought Cat was already with baby when Ned went to war but then, that was just my impression from Cat's thoughts in book 1. I'll need to read that part again but if the latter books had more details on it, you must be right. Hmmmm, but Robb did have the older brother vibe with him but maybe that's just because he was legit and Jon was not, so there was the whole insecurity thing going on with Jon.

Now I'm confused! I couldn't find out on the sites I've tried so far, but in the back of each book, it gives descriptions of the characters of each house, including their ages. Robb and Jon are both fourteen. I'll keep researching this, because now I'm not so sure who's older!
