Het OTPs!

All that Caroline / Thorne talk in my last post? Made me think with fondness of my het OTPs from way back when I was a teen until now. Het smut no longer does anything for me, not much anyway, but a good old-fashioned het romance still could get me all sigh-ey and squee-ey.

Do you have any het OTPs of your own? Fictional couples whom you rooted for, either in books or on TV / movies?

1. Pam and Bobby Ewing of 'Dallas'. Love them to bits. I thought their modern day Romeo-Juliet love extremely romantic! I watched 'Dallas' mainly because of them, counting the days, hours until the next episode. I barely remember what happened at the end though. I remember Jenna, hate hate HATE her.

2. Mulder and Scully. Oh the UST between those two! Where every look and little touches between them would make me go all shivery and quivery. My love for them transverse to their real life that I was all heartbroken ( on Gillian Anderson's behalf ) when David married Tea Leoni!


A perfectly matched couple, in intellects and looks!


3. Paul and Jamie from 'Mad About Me'. Both neurotic in their own way, two people who are actually a lot different from each other yet they got on so well together. Their on-screen chemistry was absolute magic!




4. Aragorn and Arwen, my most romantic couple from Middle-Earth. I fell in love with Strider the minute the hobbits saw him at the Prancing Pony, all dark and brooding and dangerous-looking. And when he met Eowyn, I was like, oh please, please don't fall in love with Eowyn ( nothing against Eowyn, only at that point of time I wanted him for myself ). Then Arwen came into the picture, but I didn't really get her until I reached the Appendix in ROTK.

The next day at the hour of sunset Aragorn walked alone in the woods, and his heart was high within him; and he sang, for he was full of hope and the world was fair. And suddenly even as he sang he saw a maiden walking on a greensward among the white stems of the birches; and he halted amazed, thinking that he had strayed into a dream ... And behold! there Luthien walked before his eyes, clad in a mantle of silver and blue, fair as the twilight in Elven-home; her hair dark strayed in a sudden wind, and her brows were bound with gemslike stars.

Isn't that just so romantic? *sighs*

5. And of course, Caroline Spencer and Thorne Forrester ( as played by Clayton Nostromm ). Couldn't find any pics unfortunately. But I was rooting for Thorne all the way when he and his brother Ridge were fighting for Caroline's affection. Too bad Thorne Clayton was replaced by another actor :(

I'm even more in love with you for loving Jamie & Claire. The Outlander Series had me hooked instantly and I read all four in four days. I was rather tired by the end of it but it was completely worth it.

Ok so while I hate Het with a passion when it comes to fic, I do love me some Het pairing on the small or big screen:

Mulder/Scully - X Files
Booth/Breenan - Bones
Angel/Buffy - Buffy


Book wise I'm with True - I love Jamie/Claire from the Outlander Series.
And there is another Book couple Padre & Jocelyn but god help me if I can remember the name of the series.

Bookwise - don't laugh - I adore Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, Agatha Christie's adorable and so-much-in-love-with-each-other second world war spies. I love a lot of Agatha Christies pairings. I love the pair in 'Sparkling Cyanide', the one in 'Ordeal by Innocence' and the evil couple in 'Evil Under the Sun'!

Mulder/Scully, oh yes. They were such great friends and partners before they fell in love, and the looks they would give each other would feel like they'd melt the television cameras.

Brennan/Booth. Intellectual and emotional equals, strong personalities who've learned to respect and care for each other over time.

omg your #2 was my #1!!! I totally wanted Mulder and Scully to hook up, the first movie nearly made me insane when they had their almost kiss! I used to watch Bold and the Beautiful back in the day too though I don't remember too much about it now. I think the only other couple I really wanted to see hook up were Dave and Maddy (I think that was their names :P) on Moonlighting. Now I just want the hot guys on the tv shows to hook up *g*. *hugs you* :D
