Someone should make a movie in which Jason Bourne, James Bond and Jack Bauer ( ha, they all have the same initials ) save the world together, with Sherlock Holmes thrown in for good measure.

In other words, I LOVE The Avengers. Love it so much that I can't wait to see it again. I haven't seen that Thor movie but I see now why people slash him with Loki. And I adore Agent Romanoff and I'm not even a fan of Scarlett Johansson. Love Agent Barton and his never-ending supply of arrows ( Legolas!! ), Hulk, smash! and it's good to see Robin ( HIMYM ) up there on the big screen. My one and only gripe was that they didn't have Ed Norton as Dr Banner, because *that* would have made a perfect movie even more perfect.

I'm soooooo excited about seeing this movie--it opens here this weekend. *bounces around room flailing* I love superhero movies and everyone says this is the superhero movie to end all superhero movies. *squees and flails again*

This week we've been watching Thor, Captain America and have the two Iron Man movies to go to get us psyched up for it. :) (We're skipping "The Incredible Hulk" movie--I think it has Eric Bana?--that's also part of this series of Marvel movies that lead up to "Avengers". I tried watching it once and it was just... terrible. But I hear that Joss Whedon and Mark Ruffalo took the Bill Bixby tv show approach to David Banner/Hulk so that makes me happy.)

You really need to see "Thor". It got somewhat lukewarm reviews but I absolutely loved it. Chris Hemsworth is terrific.

I'm dying to see this movie! Trying to resist the midnight show tonight because, well, the kids have school tomorrow and that would not make me a responsible parent. *lol*

You MUST watch The Hulk! Watch the one with Edward Norton and Liv Tyler, I thought it was wonderful. The one with Eric Bana wasn't very good but oh, Edward Norton as Bruce Banner was amazing. That's one of the reasons I was a bit upset that they didn't have him as Banner in The Avengers. And it had a cameo by Mr Stark himself, in The Hulk I mean.

I'm planning to watch Thor soon!

Hahaha! JB x 3! I would so watch that.

You're not the first to say they love that movie. I am a bit tired of all these super heroes movies but I guess this one is a must see. :)

LOL! Interesting! I think Sherlock and James Bond might clash when it comes to sexuality... :PPP

I read a Sherlock-Loki crossover once and it was really good.

I know, right? And Sherlock would drive everyone else crazy. I think Bourne and Bauer would work very well together, Bourne is a soldier and he wouldn't mind taking orders, say, from Bauer. Bond would want his Aston Martin and his martini and the rest would be like, come on!

I'm not much of a fan of the Spiderman or Batman series ( except for the one with Michael Keaton ) but I like the two Ironman movies and I very much adore Edward Norton in The Hulk ( hated the other hulk movies though ). I haven't seen Thor but after watching him in The Avenegers, I wantsss!

Hee hee hee, I think Sherlock would drive everyone else NUTS! And he'd insist on having John along of course.

I haven't seen Thor but I like what I saw of him in The Avengers!

Sherlock without John would be unthinkable. :)

Avengers was awesome, wasn't it? I was initially a bit peeved that Norton would be replaced in this movie, because I like continuity. But I adoooooore Mark Ruffalo, and I think he's the PERFECT Bruce Banner. Loved him bonding with Tony Stark. Love his deadpan humour. I just think he's brilliant. :)

And yes, Black Widow is extremely badass! I never liked Scarlett Jo before this, but this is definitely the perfect role for her.

Lol we love The Avengers so much that we watched Thor yesterday and that was enjoyable, too. Haven't seen Capt America yet.

I agree with you on Scarlet Johansson. I'm not much of a fan of either her or Claire Daines or Kristen Dunst ( hee hee, for some odd reasons, I lump those three together ), but Agent Romanoff made me like Scarlett!

Mark Rufallo was alright but I'm still peeved it wasn't Ed Norton. I'm wondering whether it was because Bruce Banner's character was rather small compared to the rest that Ed Norton refused the part. Any idea?

I think it was actually the studio and Joss' idea to bring in Mark as Banner. If I'm not mistaken, they've always wanted Mark Ruffalo for the part, but I guess other directors didn't want him. But Ed Norton definitely did not refuse the part. Heh, he would've been crazy to!

Btw, did you see the trailers for TAR finale?

From: [identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com
I did! And since I'm not really invested in this season's TAR, I actually went to the forums to read about what happened, haha! Not too bothered about who wins or loses, although I am rooting for Vanessa because she's pretty.

I thought that was awful, coming first at the pit-stop and finding out that you have to do the road-block again. Which team do you think that did that? I think it's Rachel and Dave but I'm hoping that it's Art and JJ. Those two need to be taken down a peg or five lol. But don't tell me if you already knew which team it was!

I not only know who did that, I also know the order in which teams crossed the finish line! :D Don't worry, I'll keep my lips tightly sealed. ;)

My husband torrents our shows. And since we have a media player hooked up to the TV, he downloads mkv's. Now he's such an HD snob, lol!

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Lucky you. Everything seems to be in mkv and mp4 now. If you don't mind me asking, how did he hooked up the media player to the TV? What media player?

/is totally clueless.

This media player: http://www.acryan.com/product/playonhd/

I'm pretty sure you hook it up to the TV the same way you would a DVD player. Ours has 1TB storage, so now ALL our shows and movies are in mkv format. It's amazing! Now when we watch Astro (we don't have Astro Byond) my husband's like, sakitnya mata! LOL

Lol, IT-challenged me was hoping against hope that what I have to do is just connect the PC to the TV *sighs*

That thing sounds rather complicated. I don't think my equally IT-challenged hubby would ever agree to buy that *double sighs*

Date: 2012-05-07 09:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com
It's actually not that complicated! You download stuff to your PC as usual, then you transfer it to the media player just like you would transfer stuff to a thumbdrive or whatever. Sure the media player has the option to download straight to it, but THAT's complicated and we've never bothered to attempt it.

Hee, once you go mkv, you'll never go back! Good luck!

But in the meantime, I'm getting more and more frustrated. The avi files that I'm getting are 1.6 gig in size and I don't think they're really avis, at least not the ones that I can play on my TV. Why on earth is it so big, usually a two-episode finale is only around 700 Mb or so?

I probably will have to watch it on the computer, or try catching it on Astro, at 1 am :((
