I really, really like this story.

This one had me smiling like an idiot the whole day, the story's totally gorgeous and the writing is awesome.

Summary

The story starts with Jared and Jensen dating, kind of, because Jared doesn't think he's gay. I almost did not continue with this story because Jared is a bit of a jerk in the beginning ( my impression only, the author might not have meant it to be that way ).

But since the summary says that they got, uhm, married, and that is a definite kink of mine ( among many others ), I persevered. And oh boy, I'm glad I did because otherwise I would have missed out on one of the wonderfulest story ever written.

After the prologue, the story fast-forwards to 6 years later and Jared and Jensen are now legally together and they have 2 kids. Now this is not an mpreg and neither it is a baby!fic. Lizzie has Jensen's DNA and Charlie is Jared's biologically and Jared's cousin is the surrogate mum.

Jared's still in the film industry though no longer a big name. He's away a lot while Jensen stays at home, looking after the kids. As time goes by, Jensen begins to get a bit ... restless, not unhappy exactly, because they still love each other but things are beginning to get too routine for him.

Then out of the blue, Jensen gets an offer to star in a major film and he's in a quandry about it. He wants the part but at the same time he doesn't want to be away from his family. But the thing is, not only he wants his family to be with him in LA, he wants Jared and him to come out officially. He's tired of hiding and he's tired of Jared repeatedly saying that he's not gay, he's not bi, he's only into Jensen for God's sake.



Now the story may sounds mushy like hell, but it's not, really it's not.

Jared turns and there he is, leaning in the doorway looking, Christ, like the first time they met for the read throughs back in the day. He has that same shy smile and he's still the only person Jared wants to be with like this. He looks the same, maybe better, except now he's got Lizzie wrapped around his leg, hanging on.

"It kind of is," Jared says, takes two steps toward the door, toward Jensen. Charlie giggles and tugs on his hand, says, "Ew, Daddy, don't do it," but Jared does anyway, leans forward and presses his lips to Jensen's, a soft, open kiss. And then Charlie is tugging on his hand with both of hers and Jared laughs and lets himself be tugged while Jensen pulls Lizzie off his leg and lifts her high in the air until she's shrieking to get put down. The door closes behind them, and they don't look back.

A, M, S and T, do read this if you haven't already. And yes, Allyson, Jensen here is *my* Jensen. Stop grinning!

I think ( hope ) you're going to like this. There's no emphasis on the marriage per se, which is actually more of a legal union thing.

It's about life after 6 years of being with no one else but each other, of Jensen getting a bit fed-up of them still being in the closet, of Jared and his hang-ups about being labelled 'gay' or 'bi'. And yeah, it also about their kids :)

Nah, I have too much on my plate right now. I have like, 10 or 15 fics saved from last week and there're simply not enough hours in the day! But I read Chicagoland 3 times already I love it so much. So. :D
