Late for work this morning. Not really my fault, though. I was caught in the midst of this National Day convoy of mile-long, flag-bedecked cars and big bikes, crawling at an agonizingly slow pace. Couldn't really weave my way through because there were police patrol cars everywhere. So there I was in my car, flagless ( the car, not me, though I'm flagless, too ), fuming ( me, not the car ) and ranting to myself that they just had to do that at that particular hour when most people are on their way to work.

Until we came to this stretch of road at a small town where they had young pre-schoolers lining the street waving their flags with their open, innocent faces smiling and laughing, and just like that, my irritation was gone.

My drive to work this morning took an hour instead of the usual 35 minutes and I arrived at my workplace to a roomful of irate-looking people but I feel good, warm and fuzzy.

But yeah, I must make an earlier start after this, no checking on LJ before getting into the car because it'll be another 14 days before our National Day and there might be more similar convoys like that. Oh well.

Isn't that amazing? :-) This is why when I work with the preschoolers, I just can't be in a bad mood...

Sometimes a seeming aggravation will turn out to be just what we need. It's nice that the children gave your spirits a lift this morning.

Oh right. Your national day is... tomorrow? We also came upon some cars making a convoy like that, but on the opposite line. Lucky us. :)

So, Bourne is awesome, eh? He's keeping you awake tonight? *g*

If you like that movie, you'll like Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy.

Our Merdeka Day is on 31st August :)

I felt almost ashamed at myself, when I saw those kids, looking at the convoy with such amazement and awe on their faces :)
