Another rec - hurt!Dean, protective!Sam *wibbles*

Imagine a world where there's not only total silence but absolute darkness as well. Dean was cursed by a water-wraith during a hunt gone wrong and now he couldn't see and he couldn't hear. Writing for mini_nanowrimo, fleshflutter has got 7 chapters up so far and the story's totally angsty and heart-wrenching. Because, a deaf and blind Dean who still wants to protect Sam? fleshflutter kills me each time she updates.

The story's tagged as Sam/Dean but it's Wincest-free so far and OMG it is SO GOOOOD!!!!

I was torn between waiting for the story to be completed and reading it now. But the minute I found out that Dean is deaf and blind, oh God, wild horses couldn't drag me away from the story *g*

Oh honey. I think I really have to pass this time. I don't mean to reject such a good work, but physically handicapped is another thing I can't accept. Once I read a blind!Dean by mistakes and I felt so disturbed. Beat him, cripple his soul, anything, as long as you don't make the physical wounds permanent. :)

Sam licks his lips and turns his face back towards the lake. He wraps an arm about Dean and tucks him under his chin, holding him close against him. He can feel Dean shivering.

See, it's wonderful isn't it? The angst is good because Dean was taking it in his strides, more or less, though I think Dean is being Dean, hiding behind that wall of toughness and nonchalance. Oh God, when he was telling Sam about when Sam wetted his bed, when Sam was putting him to bed. Classic Dean.

And it's totally canon, too. Jared said he just bought a house in Vancouver in his interview with TV Guide recently. And yes, yes, yes, Jensen could very well have helped Jared in making his house his home!!
