layne67I've been waiting and waiting for someone to write an accompanying fic to that touching scene in 'Fresh Blood' *points to icon*, and I found it last night. While not exactly a coda, it actually tells of Sam finding an old picture of Dean in the trunk of the Impala while trying to repair the car, it does manage to convey the whole poignancy of that particular scene. And the author did it very well, too, especially when the picture in question is this pic *g*

“What are you smiling about?” Sam asked, glancing from under the hood of the Impala.
“What’s not to smile about?” Dean asked, watching his brother slowly try to repair the car.
Sam didn’t answer. He just kept his hands moving and Dean swallowed his grin. The beer had suddenly lost its taste. “It’s a nice day . . . is all,” he said, putting the bottle down and absently touching the bandage on his neck.
