A query

I haven't been getting any LJ-notifications for my flist's birthdays lately and apparently they've all gone to my junk folder, along with a few of the replies to LJ comments and posts. I got most of the latter in my usual inbox, but ALL of the former had gone to my bulk folder. Anyone else with this problem? Any idea what I should do about it?

Because of the formulaic msg, Yahoo thinks it's spam. Just switch to the new Yahoo Mail if you haven't already and mark each msg in the bulk folder "not spam". Then it won't happen again.

Yeah. I get a few in my spam mail but not all so it's not consistent at all. It's *very* frustrating cos you might miss things. But I've no idea how to fix it. :/

Do you use AOL? If yes, I'm not surprised it puts your emails to the spam folder. It did this several times to me and I first noticed it when people were angry with me because I hadn't answered them. So far I didn't do anything against it, because after a while it worked properly again.

There should be somewhere in you junk box or on the message itself where you can say "Not spam" or "not junk" and that should fix it.

Oh I got that already. This problem is quite recent, and I did get most of the notifications, it's just a few stray ones that got lost, as well as the birthday notifications :(

I'm scared to change to the new yahoo! Someone, I think it was Elenya54, who posted about her yahoo email problem when she switched to the new one. The old one doesn't have the option to mark the message as "not spam", right?

I opened my bulk folder 'coz I was waiting for a specific email which was supposed to be in my inbox yesterday, and found all the birthday notifications there :(

I use Yahoo. I think the problem started when a number of people got loads of notifications on one person's birthday. It was after that, that the birthday notifications stopped coming in :(

I'm using yahoo mail, the old one, and it doesn't have that option unfortunately. Oh well, I'll just wait it out. This has happened before ( though not with the b'day notifications ) so hopefully things would be alright soon.

Oh no! That's too bad, Layne. I've been in the same situation a while ago, not with LJ notifications. But then, I just go to the bulk mail folder, tick the specific e-mail and then I clicked "not spam" button. Usually the button is easy to see. After that, everything went fine. Hope it helps.

No, the old one doesn't have the option, and merely transfering the msgs to your inbox won't solve your problem.

But it's not a problem, really. I just switched from classic Yahoo to New Yahoo, checked all the misdirected msgs (aside from b-day notifs, I had ALL comments on one post sent to my 'spam' folder), marked them 'not spam', saved and then changed back to classic Yahoo. It did the trick for me.

My son uses the new yahoo and it looks cluttered and complicated to my techno-idiot eyes, but since you said we could easily change back to classic yahoo ...

I already downloaded the entire song. But, I cannot tell which one is Jensen's voice or Steve's. I guess I'll have Shinta to hear it. She'll know.

BTW, you can convert the YouTube to mp3 format. Shinta has the software or a website for that. You may ask her.
