[livejournal.com profile] felisblanco's latest fic ( I'm still having trouble telling myself that this is all FICTION ), In A Mirror Distorted and Indistinct did just that to me. It's Jared/Jensen CWRPS, and everything she wrote has a ring of truth in it. Well, maybe not 100%, but say, 80%? Because I don't think Jensen ever had an accident when he was fourteen that left him scarred physically and mentally, and he probably never ever had any eating disorders and as far as everyone knows, Jensen is very close to his family. But the rest? This story totally reads like an unauthorized biography or something, and I had to remind myself from time to time, this is fiction but omg her Jensen and her Jared are so vivid and so true and she wrote them so well, God, I'm still reeling from it's impact.

I love this fic to bits!

I'm saving it already.

Right now I'm reading that harlequin fic in which Jared plays Jensen's boyfriend for 5 million dollars. So awesomely written!

Not really hurt!Jensen but sort of. Jensen is a son of a very rich family and he lends money to his childhood friend to pretend to be his boyfriend. It's sad when Jensen thinks he is such a loser and Jared says he's not. :')

Have spend all afternoon reading this and I am completely blown away. I guess I should give you a bit of background information about myself. I suffered from body and eating issues throughout my teenage years. I also grew up in a very religious evangelical family. Then when I was 19 years old I moved out of home and turned my back on many of the core beliefs I had grown up with. This brought many issues to critical point and I ended up with panic attacks and seeing a therapist. So as you can imagine this was extremely personal for me. And wow she did such an amazing job with this. The research she did into the matter comes thru with such grace and understanding. Plus the love story behind it all is so gorgeous. I am blown away.

I had no idea that you had all those problems. You're okay now, sweetie?

I'm great now. My therapist was fantastic - he was a whiskey drinking, chain smoking, no nonsense Scotsman called Willy who had a little garden gnome that was sticking up its middle finger sitting next to his chair. Him and I worked hard at it - it is surprisingly difficult to leave behind 19 years of belief and bad body image - and I haven't looked back since. I'm kinda lucky too - I met Phil not long after I finished my sessions with Willy and he was for me alot like Jared was for Jensen. The story didn't trigger anything as it was handled so empathically and was just so so gorgeous.

It was indeed. If the author was in front of me, I would have hugged and squeezed her to death for writing such a wonderful story.

Have you read Res Gestae (http://dreamlittleyo.livejournal.com/23438.html)? It was posted quite some time ago but I've only just read it recently. And Starting For Home (http://fleshflutter.livejournal.com/25002.html) - a mustmustmust read, bottom!Dean at its best :DD

Totally blew me away, both fics.

Oh me too! I spilled my guts and loved on her something fierce in my comments. *blushes*

Dude, I haven't read Res Gestae yet but have had it bookmarked for a while now - the author is one of my mates. I just haven't had the time lately to read any epically long fics as once I start I cannot stop! But this one will have to be next on the list.

And Starting From Home - I read that yesterday too! [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter out-did herself yet again.

Oh boy, you are going to LOVE Res Gestae. I had it bookmarked for quite some time, too, but I kept delaying it because it's a gender!swap fic, not one of my favourite fics. But a friend was raving about it and she hardly did any recs ( unlike yours truly ) so I just had to read it. It's really, really AWESOME, Toni.

But you might not like the first chapter. I hated it if truth be told and almost didn't continue with the next part but thank goodness I did because part 2 onwards are, like I said, absolutely mind-blowing.

That's kinda why I hadn't put it at the top of my list to read. Despite loving everything I have read from [livejournal.com profile] dreamlittleyo I was cautious about the gender!swap and het. But now I am looking forward to it - just gotta get thru that first chapter hey!
