I've finally watched 'Bad Day' and 'Bedtime Stories'.

I love this scene. I especially love it that Sam seemed to tower over Dean, making it look like he had more than 3 inches on Dean. Not that I'm complaining because that hit one of my kink buttons, big time, but yeah, I wonder why was that so? I initially thought that Sam was standing on an elevated part of the ward floor but that didn't seem to be the case. Could it be that Dean was not wearing his, err heels at that time?



Secondly, and I believe this had been discussed when the episode was first aired but I didn't pay much attention to it since I didn't watch 'Bad Day at Black Rock' at that time. Did Jared break character here when Dean threw curses at Bella? I thought that didn't look much like Sam laughing. Come to think of it, Sam rarely laughed out loud ( except in 'Hell House' ) and it really did look like it was Jared there who couldn't control his fits of laughter. I thought it cute though! So, was that Sam? Or Jared?

I think it's just the angle on the first question but I'm probably wrong.

As for the second, I'd heard that Jensen ad-libbed a bit and it caught Jared off guard making him laugh. So it's Jared laughing, not Sam. But then I probably got that wrong as well!

Something like the hobbits? Heh, I wish they'd use that angle when shooting more often. It turned my knees into jellies whenever Sam looms over Dean.

And Jensen should ad-libbed more often. And yeah, more unscripted hugs, too!

As far as the first question goes. I think it's just positioning and angle. Jensen was standing further back from the bed and from this camera angle it gives the illusion that Jared is so much taller.

I'm not sure where I heard (or read) but I think Jensen ad-libbed the 'son of a bitch' and Jared laughed, but they liked the take so much they used it anyway.

that whole, using that take thing. they've done that a lot it seems. the guys will have an idea and do it after they got theneeded shot and then that seems like the one they always end up using, lol. like in Born Under A Bad Sign when Dean hits Sam at the end.

I think it was actually at the Chicago con last year that Jared said Jensen ad-libbed the "Son of a bitch!" and he broke character by laughing and had to turn away from the camera! :)

hehe...it's so cute isn't it! Apparently Jensen does it a lot. At the Austin con, Jared mentioned another ad-lib in episode 6 which is kind of along the same lines, but I won't spoil it for you as you haven't seen it yet!

In the second scene, it really was Jared laughing. He wasn't sure if the camera was still rolling so he turned away quickly to not ruin the shot. Jensen totally caught him by surprise there XD

Jared is really full of laughter, isn't he? It's a wonder they managed to get any shot done. And he's so good for Jensen, who seems to me to be rather the broody type. Remember that blooper scene in 'Provenance'? Jared and the girl who played Sarah were giggling away and there was Jensen, so very serious in front of the computer.

And yes, I think that's why Jared and Jensen get along so well because they are the complete opposites. Jared draws Jensen out and Jensen grounds Jared. As Annette O'Toole said, Jensen's making everybody a better actor because he really takes care of them.

AS for the second question, he answered that in Chicago: He thought that the shot was over, so he laughed at Jensen's ad-libbed "Son of a bitch" or whatever. Then, like halfway through, he realized that "Oh, maybe we're still shooting" and that's why he turns his face away.

But, it's definitely Jared, lol.

I'll just comment on the first pic, which is the angle and because Jared is standing at least a step or two closer to the camera than Jensen is.

I am always miffed when I watch other shows (Dark Angel) and see Jensen as being "tall" because Jared makes him look "average". *sigh*
