Someone gave me feedbacks yesterday for a couple of fics that I wrote almost three years ago which made me ridiculously and giddily happy. Mostly because I didn't think anyone would read anything that far back, and it was just, you know, totally unexpected. Hee, and apparently she liked them too :D

So, anyway, I took a look at those fics because I've quite forgotten what they were about, and I was like, did I really write those? Not that they're masterpieces or anything, but except for some drabbles here and there, and maybe a couple of short ficlets, I could hardly write anything now. Gosh, I'm having trouble stringing two sentences together and there I was, writing stories, with plots mind you, and they were more than 1000 words long. I was awesome! ( tongue firmly in cheek of course *g* ). It was like I was somebody else then.

I'm writing something with a friend, and it was started more than a year ago, but I'm stuck, I'm stuck. I looked at it the other day but the muse is just -- gone. But I will get to it. One of these days. Soon. Ish.

I think the main problem is ( not that it's exactly a *problem* ), there are so many good stuff to read, and I can't concentrate on writing when my mind keeps going to that fic or verse or epic or WIP. So I guess I'm just more of a reader than a writer. It's just that when I look at my old fics, it feels like - could I ever write again?

*sighs*

These little things make us happy.
The coincidence is that someone asked me today to see my first SPN vids!!!
So it's never too late people discover your old art :)

It's okay to be just a reader...(I say "just" but readers are very valuable indeed or who would read the stuff writers write?)

But if you want to write...when I get stuck, I always think outside the box. Like I think what would be the least likely thing to happen here...and then I go with it to see what happens next.

It's such a wonderful feeling when someone goes back and reads an older fic and leaves lovely fb! I really hope the muse will return so you can do more writing, Layne, but I'm very glad to have you as a reader.

I think you'll write again. Right now, you're in what I call a dry spell. It happens to us all. But you'll find something or someone who inspires you to write.

Sometimes the muse goes running for the hills and hides away and sometimes it needs nurturing. I *can't* read when I'm trying to write, especially if it's something I care about. I have to take a big step back and emerge myself in my own little world.

Try it, it might work.

I think I know exactly what you mean. My muse disappeared on me for about five months and she's only just gone back to work now. And I agree, I think it's partially because I've been enjoying some really awesome fics that are out there at the moment that couldn't concentrate on my own writing.

Of course you can! You can, you can, you can. Because your language flows better than mine. *giggles*

Oh okay, I can I can I can!!!

Hee, that makes me think of this TV show that I used to watch when I was little - "Lucan". Do you know that show?

she's only just gone back to work now

Does that mean we're going to have some new fics from you?

*bounces*

Any hints on what it's ( they ) going to be about? :D

I think mine has gone further than the hills. Much, much further I'm afraid *g*

Oh well ...

The ones that I wrote before? They all began with one sentence in my head and the rest just, you know, came, if you know what I mean. Now it seems that "one sentence" has gone completely AWOL :/

Hee, don't mind me, Claudia. I really don't mind being just a reader. It's just that seeing those fics again, I couldn't believe that I wrote all those when I could hardly write anything now :)

Finally, yes! I've got one almost ready for posting, which is basically introspective Dean angst and I've got another case-fic on the go now.

I hope you'll enjoy :)

Oh yes, I'm much more of a reader, too. Heck, I have trouble keeping up with LJ sometimes because I totally lose track of time reading. There are just so many great stories. *sighs*

Oh but you write so beautifully, Lily. Any more ME magazine interviews in the line-up? :DD

You are so sweet. :) Okay, I confess to not remembering anything I wrote about ME magazine interviews! :D

Oh, it might have been me--what was it about? I honestly can't recall some of the last things I've written. Sadly!

I think it *was* you. It's not Claudia, it's not Janet so I think it must be you! You were a reporter for a ME magazine and you have this exclusive interview with Frodo where you asked him all sorts of questions. Ring any bell?

Hee, that interview would go well with your magazine cover, the one that you made recently!

It does sort of ring a bell... but I can't really remember. But then, I go back through my LJ and half the time can't remember it. So I probably did write it but just can't recall! I need to look for it. *nods*
