.This is young John Winchester. And his son, Dean. It's easy to see where Dean gets his looks from, yeah? A lot of people say that Dean takes after Mary, but to me he looks more like John than he does Mary.


And this? This is young Bobby. I showed this pic to hubby and he immediately said "Sam".


The resemblance is quite freaky don't you think? The furrowed forehead, the eyes, the hair ... And the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that pic of Bobby was "Omg, Bobby's Sam's father!!!". Were we ever told why John was not on good terms with Bobby? Did Bobby have an affair with Mary, and did John know about it? And if so, did he suspect that Sam might not be his son? Sam doesn't look anything like John or Dean, and while siblings may not necessarily look alike, their parents don't usually have a close family friend who look like the said sibling!

And, and, was that why John didn't get along with Sam? *gasp*

Not that I want Sam to be Bobby's of course. And yeah, I do hope Kripke or any of the other writers WON'T see the similarites and start thinking along those lines. I like Sam and Dean to be full-on brothers just fine, and that Sam and John were always at each other's throat simply because they're way too much alike, in character if not in looks.

What say you?

And speaking of family resemblance, I think Jensen looks a LOT like his mother. See, so sweet!


Adult!Dean may not look much like Mary, but young Dean did have some of her features, the blonde hair and all. And this pic hurts, Mary just before she died, and Dean in his last few hours of "normal"

I've always said the people who did the casting on this show did a damn bang up job. The fact that everyone is believable in both personality and looks as well as body language is just phenomenal.

Kripke must have the whole story-arc plotted out in his head, in general if not in details, but as much as I love Bobby, I want Sam to remain a Winchester right to the end. Sam Singer sounds kind of ... funny heheh.

Dude! Bobby was hot when he was younger. And yes, very suspiciously similar to Sam. Makes all those "family" references a little more meaningful. Ah no, I like the family set up the way it is but it's fun to speculate and to perv on John and Bobby in their fine old days!

Good point, except it seems like Bobby really let himself go after his wife died. If you take his house as an example of his state of mind, looking at it 15-20? years ago when his wife was extremely recently dead, and now, he's probably let himself slide along with the house. Whereas Sam, if Dean is still around, is more likely to take better care of his health and his body in general, so he'll probably age more gracefully than Bobby.

But Sam in 'Mystery Spot' when he was without Dean for months, he was even more immaculate than ever. I was kind of hoping for a scruffy Sam then, as well as in S4, at least in the 1st episode, because scruffy!Sam is all kind of HOT!!

Hm...scruffy Sam isn't as hot, to me, as well-groomed Sam, but I suspect I'm in the minority in thinking that. Any way you look at it, though, Sam in 20-30 years will look better than Bobby does now. I'm guessing Bobby's around his mid-50's now.

OMG! I can not believe the resemblance between Jeff/Jensen and Young Bobby/Sam! I would have not believed it without photographic evidence, so thanks so much for supplying that for my entertainment.

I keep thinking about Kripke blurting out "there not brothers" at the Con and Sera quickly saying he was always teasing like that. It's just enough to get my mind working overtime that you might be on to something regarding their parentage. I don't suppose them being half-brothers would make any difference in their well-developed brotherly feelings for each other IF Kripke would decide to fuck with the fans that way, but I don't think it would be a favorable move if he decides to go there. Not that he worries too awful much about pleasing the fan base. *ahem*

Half-brothers is better than them not being brothers at all! I read a couple of fics a little while back where the YED killed the real baby!Sam and replaced it with another. Good stories, both, but I didn't enjoy them.

Jared also mentioned something about the possibility of Sam and Dean not being brothers in one interview, so yeah, I'm kind of nervous about that. The other thing that I'm worried about is them no longer being as close as before, that there's something keeping them apart. Still speculating here, I haven't read any of the spoilers. But I did stumbled across one spoilery icon yesterday and omg I just about swooned when I saw that!! :))
