'In My Time of Dying' is a very intense, highly awaited and anticipated premier of season 2 after the mother of a cliffhanger at the end of the season 1 finale. And Kripke delivered, and more. There are so many awesome scenes from this episode. I love that part where Sam and John argued, and Dean swayze'd the glass onto the floor, smashing it to pieces. I also like this scene which

This is when Dean flatlines. There's a flurry of activities among the medical staff during Sam's and John's argument, and Dean doubles up in pain and starts to flicker. Sam rushes off to Dean's room where he sees Dean being resuscitated.

All clear ... Charging ... Still no pulse ... Lets go again ...
Dean being defibrillated. Side note : See that perfect arch that Jensen executes? Man, he's so good at that. Reminds me of something else that has nothing to do with getting defibrillated.

And this is Sam watching Dean. That expression on his face totally breaks me. The agony, the despair. I think Sam at this time seriously thinks that this is when Dean's going to leave him. The way Sam twitches and jerks, looking on helplessly. I cry for him each time I watch this scene. Each and every time.

Spirit!Dean, looking at Sam before he looks at himself on the hospital bed. I think he's galvanized into action at the hurt on Sam's face more than at himself at death door. He's supposed to protect Sam from any hurt, and he does just that.

Jared did a great, great job here. One of his finest moments, and IMO better than the crying that he did after he shot Madison, and the dying scenes in 'Mystery Spot' and 'No Rest For The Wicked'. Love, love this.
