The episode is awesome, no doubt about that. The sex was hot, the pool-hustling, the shoulder-popping, the flashbacks - guh, one of the best episodes ever.

So why am I feeling ... numb? It's 'Route 666' and 'Heart' all over again, I suppose. There's really nothing wrong with both those episodes, and I don't really hate Cassie and Madison ( honest! ). It's just seeing the boys with women that somehow gets me down, and I would have liked to say that it's worse with Ruby because she's a demon, but no, in all honesty, I got it that Sam has hit rock-bottom, and Ruby was coming at him and all, and the dead body thing isn't an issue with me either, because with Ruby inside, it's technically no longer dead. Though I'm glad that it brought the Sam-is-a-rapist thing to a close. At least I hope so.

So, it's simply them having sex with women, any women, that bothers me. Shallow much, huh?

But having said that, I concede that THAT SEX was totally and absolutely HOT, and omg, Ruby could have been Sandy herself ( what was I thinking omg ), what with her colourings and her being small-sized and all.

And with Jared looking ripped and about to burst some veins, bottom!Jared would NEVER work for me now. Not that it did much for me before, but now? Bottom!Jensen all the way :D

And oh Sam ... First a werewolf, now a demon? Meeps.

The other thing is, I guess this is when we truly say goodbye to the old Sammy for good. Yeah, we already got it that Sam is no longer the Sam he was before, but this episode said it beyond any doubt. This Sam would never wish for that white-picket thing any longer.

Some random stuffs.

1. Male CRD? And a hot one at that? Woot!
2. The demon that came to the church, I thought he was the YED at first!
3. Dean saying "I owe you Sammy" to Ruby totally threw me off. I thought he was going to say "I owe you an apology". Could it be a slip-up by Jensen and they let it roll, because it worked?
4. Castiel making his grand entrance. Man, he's so good at that, isn't he? *draws lots and lots of hearts*
5. Ruby - the angelic demon, and Uriel the demonic angel?

And lastly, it it just me but with Katie Cassidy I never did get any sexual vibe between Sam and Ruby, so this thing with the new Ruby, it is just lust, right? Right?

Its not you being shallow. Its someone fucking with your OTP. And that is not fun. It wasn't fun for me either, no matter if I could rationally acknowledge the sex was hot and all. I just don't like the boys with others. Male or female. Human or Demon or Werewolf or any other type of creature Sam might have in the future.

It does sadden me that Sam has slipped so far to have sex with a demon. The Sam of old would never. Dean would never. Her kind pinned their mum to the ceiling and burned her to death. How could he??

Funnily enough, it been now suggested that really, Ruby took advantage of Sam when he was not in a fit state to actually properly consent to sex and perhaps after all, its not Sam who did the raping but Ruby. There is some merit to this.....

And for me it has to be lust only. I definately do not believe it could be more coz there was nothing, NOTHING, between Ruby and Sam prior to Dean going down so trying to claim they like each other would be too far fetched.

Ruby is a demon anyway. I don't think demons are capable of loving anybody but themselves. Lust, yes, but not love. Though of course, with Kripke we never know. If you could have fallen angels, I suppose why not, I don't know, what word should I use? Repentant demons?

And we still do not know what Ruby's real agenda is, who/what she's working for.

I was torn about Sam and Ruby. But I think she took advantage of him when he was at his lowest point and needed somebody, anybody, to hold onto. The hell Dean was in was in Sam's mind too. I wonder about Ruby. There's no telling how they'll write her story out, but it's possible she's really trying to repent. That would make an interesting subplot.

Castiel is a little more sympathetic now that we've got the sterner angel traveling with him. We may see angel against angel before it's over with.

I'm glad the angels are dark-ish, warrior angels with no fluffy, white wings and shimmering halos in sight, but having said that I do wish Uriel would somewhat tone down that streak of ... vindictiveness ... in him. But I LOVE how Castiel is played/written, so far. I could foresee him rebelling against God's orders, and have an attachment to Dean, though not in a sexual way, canon or fiction!

I thought maybe you'd be happy that you got to see that Sam really was grieving horribly over Dean being gone, but after the months rolled by, he had to steel himself against that sort of emotion so he could control himself and be ready for the mental battles.

I liked (among many things) that this episode gave fans so many things they sometimes ask for: seeing Sam's grief finally, the patching up after the terrible fight, the boys hustling pool. All very cool.

I like seeing the boys being sexual, no matter how dysfunctional, because that makes them more real and human and male. Although I didn't really think this particular sex scene was all that convincing in terms of Ruby's attempt at seduction, I totally agree with and understand Sam's giving in. I think many of the fangirls just don't get that people don't just screw because they're in love. Sometimes it's just medicine for relief of temporary symptoms. Speaking of which, interesting symbolism in how Sam grabbed the aspirin right before they did the deed.

No, Sam's not "in love" with Ruby. He held a knife to her throat, and we already know he didn't see Ruby after Dean nearly throttled him over using his powers until he spied her in the pool hall. Now that Dean's back, I'm willing to bet my right arm that Sam/Ruby is over unless another disaster strikes.

Oh I am VERY happy to finally get to see what Sam went through that summer without his Dean. If Ruby weren't there, I think he would have driven himself to death if the other demons didn't kill him first. So different than the Sam in 'Mystery Spot', which I guess was because in MS Sam was aware that Dean was actually still alive. He was in pieces and barely hanging on ... and yes, I'm glad that we get to see Sam in his grief.

And I do get why Sam went down that road with Ruby, I do!

But I'm happy that Ruby's human body reproooductive system didn't seem to be working anymore, because other wise we would get, what, a devil's spawn? *SHUDDERS* Because I don't think Sam would bother using condoms, not that first time anyway.

So yeah, a great episode. Me feeling wierd is just me being a shallow SamandDeanforever girl.

I'm thinking that in MS, Sam still believed that if he could find the Trickster, he'd be able to force him to bring Dean back. In 4.09, he's learned nothing can bring Dean back, and to add to the hurt, he knows Dean is being tortured because of saving Sam's life. He thinks he's responsible. I think that's why Sam is in worse shape after Dean went to Hell than he was in MS. Not even the remotest shred of hope to save Dean and he's feeling the blame and severe survivor guilt.

On a totally unrelated topic, OMG, what an awful place he picked to hide out in after Dean died. Yeeeesh! I can only imagine the rats and bugs running around. So reflective of his inner self at that time. I want to read fic about him being there alone, before Ruby showed. *cries*

I am going to watch it tonight. I had company and came in on the sex scene of all things and freakin froze myself to the television. He is so freakin hot I was like...DYING! I hate the whole IDEA of Sam/Ruby, let alone the reality. And it isn't because I ship Sam/Dean, honest. The other women I had no problems with. But Sam should know better than to mess with a demon, even if she is useful. And Dean should be way more upset than he was, instead of just vaguely unsettled as he seemed to me.

If Sam continued having sex with Ruby now that Dean's back and Sam's more or less alright, now that I couldn't forgive/accept. But Sam back then was broken, and broken people do strange things, he wasn't thinking right, if he was thinking at all, and Ruby was all over him, so yeah, I understand where Sam was at, and I forgive him.

As for Dean, well, he's a master at hiding what he was really feeling, always had and always will be. God knows what he was really thinking/feeling behind all those walls he had built around himself from way back before Sam went to college, when he was struggling to keep his little family together, always putting his brother and his father before him. Oh Dean felt it alright, he just didn't show it.

Nah, I don't think it's a slip either. It's just that I really thought he was going to say "I owe you an apology". In a way, I think Dean started out to say exactly that but he changed his mind and said Sammy instead. He has NOTHING to apologize for, and I'm glad he didn't.

What I hope wouldn't happen after this is for Sam and Ruby to continue where they left off, because that would be like, YUCK!!

No there was no sexual vibe with Katie when she played Ruby and when the demon was in the secretary there wasn't either so I'm not sure there is with this one. This chick that's playing her (plus I guess the writers) has her mighty needy right now, or she was using as someone suggested something else to pull Sam out of his spiral, just like the doing and saying things like Dean would. It's like she was pulling out every trick she had and then some to keep him here on this plane and not get himself killed.


Now I don't know what her deal is but in this case and I'm thinking Dean feels the same way I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, although I should.

I think someone mentioned somewhere that Jared did say in one of the interviews at TVGuide or something, that the CRD would appear in forms most pleasing to the person summoning the demon. I guess that was why they cast Sandy as the demon in Bedtime Stories. And now a man appeared when Sam did his summoning a second time. I find it more interesting to the J2 RL storyline actually heheh, since you know, he's living with Jensen now ... our boy coming out maybe?!?

Hee, I wish Ruby would stay in the maid's body a lot longer!!!!

And no, I didn't dislike this episode. I dislike an episode when it's bland and doesn't bring out any emotion/reaction out of me whatsoever - and I have 3 such eps - 'No Exit', 'The Magnificent 7' and 'Sin City'.
