Summary:The Winchesters and the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate the same case, a series of mysterious deaths on the grounds of a South Carolina plantation.
I've only just started watching Criminal Minds only recently and I loved the three episodes that I've seen so far. So I was delighted when I saw
art_savage posting this SPN / Criminal Minds crossover fic.
And it's awesome. It's thrilling with edge-of-the-seat suspense and the characterizations are perfect. It'd help if you had seen CM but the story'd work even if you hadn't. But if you had, then Morgan was HOT in it!
It's set during season 4. Dean's dealing as best as he could with the knowledge of Sam's "outings" with Ruby when a distraction came by way of a case. Their paths crossed with the Feds' and they became the prime suspects and had their old files opened up. Spiced up with old Southern history, this is a fabulous and exciting read and it felt like watching an episode of SPN with special appearances by the CM team. A must-read!

Date: 2009-10-06 02:14 am (UTC)FBI BAU Supervisory Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid:
Played by Matthew Gray Gubler, Doctor Reid is a genius who graduated from a Las Vegas public high school at age 12. He is almost always introduced as Dr. Reid, even as the others are introduced as S.S.A. 'blank'. In episode 4×08 it was revealed that he holds PhDs in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Engineering, BAs in Psychology and Literature, and is working on a BA in Philosophy. He has an IQ of 187, an eidetic memory that applies mostly to things he has read (he is shown to occasionally forget things he has heard, such as "that new tech girl's name" in a flashback from 3x18 Tabula Rasa), and can read 20,000 words per minute.
Yeah, love them geeks!
That episode with Garcia (whom I also adore) was really intense! I like Morgan, but the rest of the team are too cold for my tastes. Very professional, excellent at their jobs, but I just don't care much for their personalities.

Date: 2009-10-06 03:35 am (UTC)I really don't like the other girls on the show. Prentiss was a replacement for...can't think of her name, but an equally distant female team member. Garcia seems like the only one with a real, honest-to-God life, even if it's more of a fangirl life than an average girl life, if you know what I mean. In that Garcia is into fantasy and sci-fi and computers and impossible crushes on hot guys. I love her "relationship" with Morgan, and the way he humors her. He really does love her, just not quite the way she feels about him. Apparently the flirting came about because the actor and actress started goofing around in between takes, or during table reads or something, teasing each other with the nicknames and flirting, and the writers picked up on it.
There's a great episode which has Reid and Garcia going out on a not-date, just hanging around together, and it's cute and sweet, till a case gets in the way.
The ep where Garcia was shot (it was a two-parter) is not quite half-way through Season 3. We've just seen the second episode of Season 5 here, so you're a little past the mid-point of the series so far.
I can see the various slash combos, because the team members do become rather enmeshed with each other, but I'm not into it enough to want to read the stories, unless it's a friend writing them. I do want to check out the various cross-overs with SPN. I'm trying to recall the name of a really long one that was very good. When I think of it I'll give you the name and author, and post a link if I can. It's a gen story, many chapters, but very well done.

Date: 2009-10-06 04:12 am (UTC)So far I haven't got any slash vibes between any of the male characters yet but maybe it's still too early for me to "get" it. Unlike Sam/Dean which was there from the get go!!
