2012. And I watched it on December 20th, too!

I enjoyed it, despite all the mind-boggling improbabilities and impossibilities. Because he was the hero, you can't expect him to die within the first twenty minutes of the story, right? And he should have, many times over. But yeah, I enjoyed it, it lived up to expectations and more, the special effects were fantastic. I want to watch it again!

And also, I really want to watch Avatar. Sam Worthington omg! He's totally the person to replace Jensen when and if I lost interest in the latter. But, but, I'm not really into that kind of movie. Should I or should I not? Watch Avatar, I mean.

Yay for you seeing 2012. :)

I REALLY want to see Avatar! It sounded a bit funny (even though I'm really more sci-fi than i'd admit) but after I saw a behind the scenes Australian special with Sam I was "I must see that!". It looks amazing. And it has Sam Worthington! ^^ In the trailers it also looks like Bones' Depressive dark Intern aka Mr.Fisher. :P

Darnit. There was a really interesting post somewhere, which I now cannot find, about Avatar. It was concerned with the plot - natives in trouble, white man arrives, disguises hismelf as a native, saves the day cus the natives can't. It did make me think.

If this a spoiler - I haven't even seen a trailer so have no idea - feel free to delete it. :)

I haven't seen Avatar yet but my source (the kid that is my brain twin when it comes to movies) said it was visually stunning but mediocre in plot. When I heard this, I thought "Titanic" because I really didn't like that movie at all. That said, I'll probably see it eventually...

Don't hit me but I had to google Sam Worthington. LOL *ahem* Don't know about him replacing The Ackles, though...

:D

Yesssss! The special effects were amazing! It was great to watch it on the big screen, though I'd actually planned to boycott every further Emmerich movie after Independence Day.
It was only, because my boy had invited his friends to the cinema on his birthday, but then the film we wanted to watch wasn't shown. I had to redispose and the only film at the time was 2012. :/ I thought little boys of nine and ten years are surely the right target audience for this kind of film. The result was, two of them were totally keen about it, the whole rest moaned and waited for the end, because the story was just too ... *yawn* you know what I mean. I just waited for the one sequence when the spirits of all the dead humans raise to heaven in a gleaming, shimmering whirl. Blah ... But it didn't come. What a luck.

Of course I will watch Avatar. I saw the trailer and it looks spectacular!

LOL. If there's something I can't stand in a movie, it's gratuitous illogic. No one in the family wants to see it anyway.

The son and his geeky friends have seen Avatar. They enjoyed the visual spectacle very much, but warned me that the storyline was a bit of a ho-hum (besides being predictable), and there wasn't much in the way of character development. *g* I plan to see it after the hols, but all I'm expecting to enjoy is great eye candy.

Ooooooohhh!! I want to see that BTS special!! What it's called exactly? I need to trawl the internet to see whether anyone has uploaded it.

The part that I remember the most on 2012 was when that Russian guy said "Engine. Start." That was priceless!!

And don't you think that Noah looked a bit like Rupert Grint and the Chinese tech guy looked like Jackie Chan?

Oh I saw that post too, or maybe it was someone commenting on that post, I can't remember. Something about the white hero going native or something. I don't really mind that except in the shallowest possible way ie I won't be able to see Sam Worthington as he really is, and from the trailers that I saw, it seems that he's blue-faced most of the time.

I'm not into Titanic either. Mainly because of di Caprio. He and Tom Cruise, IDK, whenever I see them I see "di Caprio" and "Cruise" and not the characters they played. I used to feel that way with Brad Pitt too until I saw Babel ( I'm a fan now! ).

Sam Worthington was in Terminator Salvation. He was totally the hero for me in that movie, not Christian Bale!

You didn't like Independence Day?

What was the original movie that you initially planned to watch?

little boys of nine and ten years are surely the right target audience

The irony of it was that it was rated PG13 here LOL.

I want to watch it but from what I could see in the trailers, it's mostly ... animation or something? And Sam Worthington is hardly seen as himself?

Have you seen it, Jas?

Oh there was no logic whatsoever to that story! But it was entertaining all the same, mindless most of the time, but it was a good 2 1/2 hours :))

Hee, blue-faced eye candy!

Do you watch Bones? There's an episode in which two of the characters joined hundreds of others in a queue camping out in front of a theatre to watch the premier of Avatar!

And you've got me interested in watching the movie itself, not just for the sake of Sam Worthington :))

You didn't like Independence Day?

Ooohh no, I didn't! I remember that we had to queue for about 45 minutes to get tickets for the cinema at that time and then the result was just so histrionic and cheesy. It seemed to me like a skit to a bad and expensive Hollywood movie. Very disappointing.

Actually we'd planned to watch Planet 51. I think the level was almost the same, but because it's an animation film, one could figure out that it's meant as funny as it looks.

Yes, 2012 was rated P12 here as well, but children are allowed to watch it accompanied by an adult. We were the only audience in the cinema, by the way. When I bought the tickets, the man at the checkout called first his colleague to start the film, because there 'are some customers'. LOL!

I'm not too sure exactly. The only thing I could find was "Special: The Making of Avatar" but yeah I don't know if it is really called that.

Haha glad you enjoyed it! ^^

But you totally lost me here. I haven't seen 2012 if thats what you were talking about.

And yes, I beleive he is mostly blue and not really his "body" so no human eye candy. But pervyness on scantily clad blue men and women? *raises eyebrow*

If you watched 2012 you should definitely watch Avatar, the storyline is simple to the point where it is a little shallow but omg the graphics are to die for! And yes, Sam Worthington is tickle me pink HOT and entertaining to watch as he is a 6 foot blue smurf. Teehee. But definitely worth it. Gogogogogogogogogo!
