Big Brother.
Jul. 27th, 2010 04:57 pmI've been curious about that show ever since I read Ben Elton's Dead Famous a while back. But I didn't get the chance to watch it until now - Big Brother US Season 12. And two episodes in, I think that the show is rather ... juvenile.
But I watch it anyways, not only because I'm a reality show junkie ( as if you don't know already ) - I'm in withdrawal for The Amazing Race and Survivor, when are they coming back omg - but mostly because of one of the contestants who looked a LOT like Jared Padalecki!
See what I mean? Jared must have loaned him his shades lol.

The floppy hair.

That chiselled jaw.

The broad back.

Need I say anything here? :DD Not as defined as Jared's but close enough!

Goofy!!

He even has Jared's flip-flops!!

I would have stopped watching the show after the first episode but for Hayden. It's so easy to imagine him as Jared! Too bad there's no Jensen's look-alike as well.
Do you watch reality shows? Any favourites? Mine are The Amazing Race ( but of course! ), Survivor and The Appentice. And I watch The American Idol regularly, too, though for the life of me I don't understand why AI is described as a reality show and put together with TAR and Survivor on the awards programmes. Isn't it a singing competition?

I kinda hate American Idol, ever since they "made" Adam Lambert loose his crown.
And what else? Uhm...I think that's all. I don't watch that many reality show.
Oh, I know one and I enjoyed it; Simple Life, with Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. That was a cool show. *g*
I remember more. America's Next Top Model, the Apprentice (US and UK versions), So You Think You Can Dance (not regularly lately).
Ah, turned out I watch a lot of reality shows. Hahahaha

Date: 2010-07-28 12:04 am (UTC)It makes you wonder, doesn't it, how much of what is in reality show is "real" and how much is actually scripted.
If you have the time, I recommend you read Chart Throb (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/e/ben-elton/chart-throb.htm) by Ben Elton ( yes, him again! ) in which he dissected the world of reality singing competitions. A lot interesting stuff there and I especially like what he had to say about the three judges and the auditions. I have a feeling that was what *really* happened!

Date: 2010-07-28 12:10 am (UTC)I think that's one of the reasons I love reality shows. Ordinary people doing things they don't usually do, you can bond with these people the way you can't with celebrities. I enjoy watching the celebrity versions of reality shows but the "bond" is not there. I mean, how can you bond with mega-rich people competing in Trump's The Apprentice?
You and M should enter The Amazing Race. Or you and Surgicalsteel!

Did you manage to catch the CSI trilogy? I missed it *head-desk*
I knew it was on the 28th but for some reasons I thought it was last night. Aaaargh!

Date: 2010-07-30 09:12 am (UTC)That was my first time watching a full episode of CSI:Miami, and OMG it's like everyone is underwater or something, they all tend to speak soooo slowly! Even Fishburn's character started talking slowly like Horatio Caine.
But things totally picked up in NY, and I was really reminded why it's my favourite of all the three CSI's. It was pretty action packed.
And um, I kept falling asleep during the Vegas episode. Heh.
