I've been curious about that show ever since I read Ben Elton's Dead Famous a while back. But I didn't get the chance to watch it until now - Big Brother US Season 12. And two episodes in, I think that the show is rather ... juvenile.

But I watch it anyways, not only because I'm a reality show junkie ( as if you don't know already ) - I'm in withdrawal for The Amazing Race and Survivor, when are they coming back omg - but mostly because of one of the contestants who looked a LOT like Jared Padalecki!

See what I mean? Jared must have loaned him his shades lol.

The floppy hair.

That chiselled jaw.

The broad back.

Need I say anything here? :DD Not as defined as Jared's but close enough!

Goofy!!

He even has Jared's flip-flops!!

I would have stopped watching the show after the first episode but for Hayden. It's so easy to imagine him as Jared! Too bad there's no Jensen's look-alike as well.

Do you watch reality shows? Any favourites? Mine are The Amazing Race ( but of course! ), Survivor and The Appentice. And I watch The American Idol regularly, too, though for the life of me I don't understand why AI is described as a reality show and put together with TAR and Survivor on the awards programmes. Isn't it a singing competition?

Singing or dancing competitions are different than Survivor, but they're still considered reality shows. There's different types of shows that fall into this category.

The only reality shows I watch are American Idol, and So You Think You Can Dance. I esp like the 2nd show, it has some really awesome dancing. :)

I've never seen SYTYCD though I've seen the TV trailers. Maybe I should give it a try one of these days.

He does look a bit like Jared. :)

Reality shows I watch are more on those kinds of competition such as AI, So You Think You Can Dance, and The American Next Top Model. :)

The real Jared would probably go stark crazy, being locked-up in one place with total strangers. Unless Jensen's with him of course.

I'm currently following that WIP, a J2 AU tailored after the reality show 'The Bachelor'. I wish someone would write J2 TAR-style!

Top Chef! I love that show. Makes me really hungry! Hahahaha

And of course The Amazing Race.

I kinda hate American Idol, ever since they "made" Adam Lambert loose his crown.

And what else? Uhm...I think that's all. I don't watch that many reality show.

Oh, I know one and I enjoyed it; Simple Life, with Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. That was a cool show. *g*

I remember more. America's Next Top Model, the Apprentice (US and UK versions), So You Think You Can Dance (not regularly lately).

Ah, turned out I watch a lot of reality shows. Hahahaha

It makes you wonder, doesn't it, how much of what is in reality show is "real" and how much is actually scripted.

If you have the time, I recommend you read Chart Throb (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/e/ben-elton/chart-throb.htm) by Ben Elton ( yes, him again! ) in which he dissected the world of reality singing competitions. A lot interesting stuff there and I especially like what he had to say about the three judges and the auditions. I have a feeling that was what *really* happened!

That Adam Lambert thing? Definitely scripted! I'm sure the real result was really different.

Chart Throb ya? I will find the book. Thank you, Layne. :D

I'd love to see you in Survivor, Janet!! How many days do you think you can make it? :))

ps I think you can make it all the way to the final two, or at least final four.

Thanks for the good thoughts! I doubt I'd make it very far, though, because I'm not a very strategic thinker.

I don't watch any reality shows right now, except for (and this will be considered boring in comparison), international house hunting! I love to live vicariously through other people! :))

I love to live vicariously through other people.

I think that's one of the reasons I love reality shows. Ordinary people doing things they don't usually do, you can bond with these people the way you can't with celebrities. I enjoy watching the celebrity versions of reality shows but the "bond" is not there. I mean, how can you bond with mega-rich people competing in Trump's The Apprentice?

You and M should enter The Amazing Race. Or you and Surgicalsteel!

I don't like any reality TV except for Deadliest Warrior.. and I'll watch Man vs Food if it happens to be on. Other than that, I don't like it. *lol*

We don't have those two shows here, but Man vs Food sounds like what Dean would watch, or even enter! Yup, he totally went in for an audition, much to Sam's horror and embarassment heheh.

Actually, Man vs Food is on the Travel and Living channel. The hubby and I enjoy watching it in a sort of morbid fascination way.

And yes, I am working my way through my flist. Hi!

Hi!

Travel and Living Channel, eh? *takes note*

Did you manage to catch the CSI trilogy? I missed it *head-desk*

I knew it was on the 28th but for some reasons I thought it was last night. Aaaargh!

I did watch it. There will probably be a repeat this Sunday, right? But just to give you a heads up, it's not exactly a crossover of all three CSI's at the same time. Laurence Fishburn's character is the only one to show up in all three episodes, and yes, it is one episode per franchise. They start off with Miami, followed by NY, ending with Vegas.

That was my first time watching a full episode of CSI:Miami, and OMG it's like everyone is underwater or something, they all tend to speak soooo slowly! Even Fishburn's character started talking slowly like Horatio Caine.

But things totally picked up in NY, and I was really reminded why it's my favourite of all the three CSI's. It was pretty action packed.

And um, I kept falling asleep during the Vegas episode. Heh.

I know! I tried watching Vegas and Miami but couldn't get into them at all. Horatio's sunglasses irritated me no end - I was extremely delighted when SPN did that CSI Vegas parody!!!
