Watched BBC's Sherlock last night. Huh. So, that's why so many people are slashing them! Or is that Sherlock Holmes the movie?

Anyway, I really enjoyed that. I thought it was stylish and pretty, a bit bizarre ( a lot! ) but in a VERY good way. Totally not what I was expecting lol. I went all round-eyed when Watson opened his laptop. Laptop!!

Sherlock made me think of young Sam Winchester a bit, all floppy hair and lanky and the slanted eyes, the dimples! And Watson being shorter, and the short hair of course made me think of Dean. But then, when did things not remind me of SPN lol.

Love the last part a lot, Sherlock with the blankets and his "I'm in shock!". I'm totally going to watch the next two parts. But ... only three parts? :(

And also - Martin Freeman! That was the first time I saw him, have heard so much about him the past one week and yay, he's going to be The Hobbit!

I'll be watching two episodes of SPN back-to-back tonight. Yup, still didn't watch last week's. I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to watch two episodes at one go. Double the heartbreak/frustration maybe? Or maybe ... double the joy? Maybe I should watch Merlin or House in between ... or Sherlock of course!

And speaking of SPN, there was this pull-out from our local papers waxing lyricals on SPN yay! Online version here, and it's mainly about season 5.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Me too and you will be pleased to know that they are filming or going to be filming more.

The homoerotic undertones are such a joy! lol!

Sherlock's rocking awesome, isn't it? I think it's my favorite incarnation of the Sherlock Holmes "mythos" :) I love that a) they call each other Sherlock and John, not Holmes and Watson, b) they are young and c) they care about each other so much!

I think that the BBC Sherlock fandom is now bigger than the movie Sherlock Holmes fandom.

The fanfics, are they mostly BBC's or the movie's? And I adore your icon!

Mostly for the BBC show, I think. But it's hard to discern what story is in what fandom. Some authors don't bother to explain, don't ask me why.

Yep that's why people are slashing them and it's actually the same for the movie and the series :)
Glad you enjoyed it. I was surprised at how much i liked it too. And damn you and your theory *giggles* i'm def a Watson girl :)

I'm so going to watch the movie after I finish all three episodes!

I love both of them for the moment. Sherlock is so INTENSE omg! But how I wish my downloaded eps came with captions. A lot of the time I found it quite hard to understand what they were saying!

Sherlock especially, right? He talks so fast! But i'm sure subtitles are there somewhere. Did you find any?

No, I'm afraid not :/

Some British shows, I can understand them perfectly, Merlin for instance, but for some, I've a hard time making out what they're saying. I guess it's the accent thing?

It's easier to understand American accent!

Yes, american accent is easier to understand (though sometimes i can't get a word from what people are saying).
Heh, good to have me here :) Try this:
http://www.tvsubtitles.net/subtitle-748-1-en.html
All 3 eps are there.

Again? They seem often visit that place :)

LOL yeah, again! I guess after 17 seasons, there really are not that many new places to go. They've been to my country 4 times and I always got such a kick when they came here.

Though there are a lot of places yet that they have never been to, but maybe for logistic and safety reasons, they've never been there.

From: [identity profile] leelust.livejournal.com
Yeah, i think for the show like that it's very important to keep all people safe. maybe for the interest of new place they would go somewhere but if it's not safe it's better to *follow protocol* so to speak.

Going to places like the Middle East would make the producers go white-haired I think :)

They had been to the South/North Korean border once, but that was because one team got lost and they went all the way up to the border. I bet the sight of the armed soldiers and the army tanks freaked the crew as much as the team!

Haha, i bet they freaked out. But it's very dangerous - in unsafety places there are people whose business is to kidnap people and they can take advantage of having the show there. I think the producers are smart enough to not allow that and place the game in safer countries.

I think people are slashing both the show and the movie. I really loved the first episode of 'Sherlock', and I'm not a huge fan of the stories. It was wonderfully done and I'm even more excited about Martin Freeman being our Bilbo!! *happy*

You knwo how sometimes we've never heard of a certain thing or a certain someone, and then suddenly all you're hearing is about them? Heheh, that's Martin Freeman for me!

How about the other 2 episodes? Are they as good as the first one? I've got them all downloaded!

Sherlock is HUGE fun, I adore it. As for Martin Freeman, he's going to make the most excellent of hobbits!

I could get into this fandom I think, especially if they continue with this series. Just 3 episodes maybe is not enough to immerse myself into it, the fandom I mean. But they're very slashable indeed, aren't they?

I think there's going to be more which is just brilliant.

I can't wait for them to air it here ( if ever ) so I downloaded it. It's really FUN!

He, I watched it last night as well and really really loved it. :))) I had read some of the slash before and thought I really ought to watch the series first... and I was not disappointed. :)))

I really loved the dialogue - it was funny but still realistic. And I loved Martin Freeman's interpretation of Watson. :)

I watched the second episode last night and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first one. I like how it's funny in a subtle way, and the slashy undertones is awesome as well. I'm going to watch the movie after I've finished with the the third BBC Sherlock, can't wait to compare those two!

When you say film, do you mean the one with Jude Law and Robert Downey Jnr? Must say I found it awful - it was incredibly boring (I didn't care at all if they solved the case or not) and some scenes were just in the film because they enabled the studio to use special effects. *sighs* Total waste of time in my opinion.

Yes, that movie. I wanted to watch it at the theatres but they didn't have it at the cinemas near my place, I'd have to travel ALL the way to KL for that. Seemed to much of a trouble back then. Heheh, with what you said there, I'm glad I didn't!

Hubby watched it though, and he said he slept halfway through.

LOL! Can't fault your hubby for that!! The film started out quite well but after the first ten minutes they'd used up all their fireworks... *sighs*

But *squeeeee* for the BBC Sherlock and more Sherlock in future!! :)
