I saw Gulliver's Travels last weekend. It was an extremely enjoyable one and a half hour, I laughed my head off the whole time. Yay for slapsticks!! And I love Emily Blunt in it. So cute! I've never heard of her before The Wolfman but now she seems to be everywhere. Not that I'm complaining of course, I'm so fangirling her now, along with Olivia Wilde. Cant wait to see her in Wild Target and Empire ( thanks [livejournal.com profile] ckll! ). And when oh when can I see her in The Adjustment Bureau?? Emily Blunt and Matt Damon *dies*

Speaking of Matt Damon. I watched The Bourne Supremacy and a few eps of 24 season 6 on the same day. And it got me thinking, long and deep ( lol ) on who would win if one were asked to take the other down. Hubby said Bourne and I agreed. But if they were working together and someone needed to be in charge, we thought that Bourne would be the one following orders.

If you knew both guys, what do *you* think?

At first i agreed with your analysis (i still agree that bourne will win over Jack) but i'm not sure anymore that Bourne will take orders. I mean i can see that and his respect for bauer too but in the same time i think Bourne is good with being in charge as well as Bauer. I think them working together would be a duet so to speak with no actual leader but them working as a team.

Bourne/Bauer or Bauer/Bourne?

:D

Kim Manners directed Empire and was a great show.

I have no idea who would win or be in charge! I have a feeling that Bauer would top, though, in other circumstances. ;) Your thoughts?

I first noticed Emily Blunt in "The Devil Wears Prada" and was extremely impressed with her.

Ah movies! I'm still waiting to see Tron... in the meantime, I'm just enjoying watching some older movies (Die Hard, Back to the Future, The Italian Job).

Bourne would definitely kick ass but I totally see Jack Bauer calling the shots. LOL

Emily Blunt is a wonderful actress. She's so good in The Devil Wears Prada, and in The Young Victoria, and The Jane Austen Book Club. And I first saw her in an intimate little Indie horror movie called Wind Chill, where she impressed me so much, I started looking for her in other films.

Bourne would probably destroy Bauer, but it might take him some time. And I don't think Anyone could ever really boss Bourne around. They could try, but I think he'd still go his own way.

You're probably right, esp once he gets his whole memory back. But Bourne in Treadstone mode, he followed orders, and he had been trained do just that, whereas Bauer is used to lead, so I think Bauer would be the one in charge. Not that I'm saying Bourne would follow blindly, but Jack is a good man, and I think Bourne would recognize him as a good leader.

A Bourne-Bauer duet is a wonderful concept!

Heheh. I slash people a lot, but Bourne/Bauer? Hmmmmm, I really can't see that. Now if Jensen were to be the new CTU agent, working under Bauer, or if he were cast as Bourne's younger brother ... ;)

I've seen a few minutes of Empire and it really looks promising!

Bourne and Bauer are both good men, and good at their jobs. It's hard to choose!

OYYYYY!! Two alphas together, now that would be very, very interesting! But I kind of agree with you. Bourne has a ... submissive side to him, maybe just a little, whereas I can't see that in Bauer at all!

I think she's a very good actress. Her character in Gulliver's Travels is so hilarious! It's a bit like seeing Annette Bening in Mars Attack. I haven't seen Bening in a comedic role before that, so seeing her in that was such a pleasant surprise, same thing with Blunt! Heck, it's always nice to see actors who're known for their "serious" characters being funny. De Niro in Meet The Fockers for instance!

Tron is awesome! I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I LOVE it!

I love Die Hard, esp the first one. It's one of those that I'd never tire of watching, along with movies like Predator and Terminator ( the first ones that is ).

One thing about Bauer, I think he relied a bit too much on technologies, the satellite surveilance for instance. Whereas Bourne, a toaster could become a deadly weapon!

Bourne is used to taking orders, as a soldier and as a black-op assasin. But Bauer takes great pleasure in defying orders!

I haven't heard of the Jane Austen movie or Wind Chill. I'll be on the lookout for those, thanks for the heads-up!

She's really funny in Gulliver's Travels! The movie is a bit silly maybe but it's fun as a whole, you'll get a good laugh out of it. And there's Emily of course, the Lilliputian princess who's always in danger of getting kidnapped lol.

I'd LOVE to see them doing a movie together. I guess seeing a crossover between Bauer and Bourne would be too much to hope for, but I'd take anything, even a spoof!

Heee, you've seen Gulliver's Travel too? Now I'm jealous! It's totally on my list of movies to see. But the one that's on the very top right now is Black Swan. I'm dying to see that one. Have you seen it yet?

Gulliver's Travels is so much fun! Totally silly of course, but I enjoyed it!

No, I haven't seen Black Swan yet. Natalie Portman, I think? It hasn't arrived at our shores yet unfortunately.

Geez! That ain't easy to answer!

My initial reaction was Bauer all the way but nah, not so sure anymore. It's been a long while since I saw any Bourne movie so that's why I really can't say. They are both simply badass, both trained to kill and both takes command naturally.

They have no problem with er, doing the nasty and I think both have a strong concsious on what's right or wrong, (even when they might act the opposite)... hmmmm...

I think Bauer really is a softy at heart. Really, he is. I'd say he'd be willing to follow Bourne. As long as he agrees with the orders that is.

Winning in a fight... nope, don't know.

Bourne in his assasin mode was formidable. I mean, before he began to get back his memories and conscience, he was practically a killing machine. But now that he has more or less become a "human" again, I'm thinking that he'd probably work very well with Bauer. Oh if only I could write, I'd so totally write a 24/Bourne crossover, probably with Bauer trying to bring Bourne in with Bourne resisting at first.

As for giving orders, I think Bourne is more likely to do what Bauer tells him to do instead of the other way round, since Bourne had always been in a position that followed orders - he was a soldier and an assasin, while Bauer is used to giving the orders!
