layne67So much heartache in this movie. Where did it went wrong? Too much love and protectiveness that the sisters felt somethered by it? I was in tears when they played the vinyl records on the turntable, listening to the songs through the telephone, so bittersweet. And I was horrified when Mrs Lisbon forced Lux to burn her rock records. She had just lost one daughter, didn't it occur to her that the others might follow suit? That was the moment when I began to dread the inevitable.
I've quite forgotten that Josh Hartnett was in the movie so that was a sweet surprise. He was so adorably young then, and such cute hair! It was rather amusing to see the actor playing older Trip who didn't look anything like Josh Hartnett now.

There were times when Lux made me think of Marybeth.
A good movie albeit a bit depressing ( definitely no repeat viewing for me! ), with splendid acting all around. I'm not really a fan of Kristen Dunst but I liked her as Lux, she looked so pretty, as were all the sisters. And Kathleen Turner and James Wood were awesome!
