Oh my gosh, I want to read it but I'm scared it's going to be upsetting. The minute someone says their doing an analysis based on what they've heard of the season it gets my hackles up. (Trust me, I have a flister who emails me daily with her thoughts on Season 6 but she hasn't even gotten past 5.19 yet so I know what a slippery slope it is).
Oh it's all good I assure you. There're some things that I agree and some that I don't agree but it's all discussed intelligently and sanely with no wanking whatsoever!
I did go over to read it and it was what I expected.
You know what I think? Humans are incredibly complicated creatures. I know that a lot of people believe that all relationships are basically sexual in nature, but I'm not one of those people. I also believe that real men behave in all kinds of contradictory ways, some of it a result of what they've been raised to believe is societal norm and some just because they're guys. LOL
Most of my friends are men and their emotional maturity level ranges from the 10 - adult. No, strike that, guys are basically kids at heart. They can have genuine affection for one another without it being sexual in nature and they like to dish out the sexual innuendo ALL THE TIME. It doesn't mean they have latent homosexual tendencies. In fact, just last week, I had 2 friends tell me they went gay for 5 minutes when Thor walked onscreen without his shirt on. hahaha! Two separate guys who hadn't actually conferred with one another! It doesn't mean they have homosexual feelings, it just means they can appreciate the male form. I can think a woman is beautiful... that doesn't mean I want to sleep with her.
That said, I don't think Dean was an ass to Castiel when he was watching porn because... uh... you don't watch porn in a room with other guys and you don't talk about it. Actually, I wouldn't want any of my friends watching porn while I'm in the room (especially if I'm working on something) and I really don't want to talk about it. I don't think that's prudish behavior at all. Further, Castiel's hard on is pretty funny given the givens.
And, I know people will see what they want to see but I don't think Castiel's "love" for Dean necessarily means he wants to marry him and have angel babies. And I certainly don't think Sam's unbalanced behavior is a result of him being jealous (okay, I admit he had a right to be perturbed that Cas responded to Dean's summons instead of his but it doesn't go beyond that).
So, no. I don't agree with any of what she said. Maybe I'm just watching a different show. LOL
I guess it boils down to whether you ship Dean/Castiel or not. I think I've told you, I love those two together so very much, though not necessarily in a sexual way, more like in a ... romantic way. I believe Cupidsbow is a Dean/Cas shipper, big time, so maybe that sort of coloured her perception of them, if you know what I mean. I'm thinking most of Sam's girls don't see the Dean/Cas angle at all, sexual or platonic.
Nah, you know, I totally accept that I'm watching a different show. The one thing I like about Supernatural is that none of the "relationships" on the show are sexual in nature. Dean reads like a typical heterosexual American male to me. Sam too for that matter. LOL
Sam girls see the show through Sam colored glasses so that's not surprising either.
Oh but seeing the show from a slasher pov is more fun! Don't get me wrong though, I do know what you mean. Sherlock for isntance, and Merlin, everyone and their cats seem to be slashing Merlin/Arthur and Sherlock/Watson but I don't!
