This fic has made me so happy today I can't stop smiling!!

The Dead Man In The Lab by [livejournal.com profile] sameuspegasus, SPN/Bones crossover, gen, rating PG, word count approx 50K++

Summary : There's a dead man in Booth's interrogation room and he's having an argument with an angel of the Lord. Also Sam Winchester is back from hell and a little unstable.

A wonderful, profoundly satisfying story with perfect characterizations all around from both fandoms. It's hilarious and suspenseful and immensely thrilling, it made me cheer and root for everyone, from Sam to Dean, to Bones and Booth, Cas, Angela and Hodgins and Daisy but if I had to choose only one, than I have to say that it's Sweets!

It started a little like Bellatemple's The Righteous Man In The Shallow Grave ( which I love too! ), with Dean wreaking havoc and causing overall destruction in Bones' lab and I had a fleeting thought that the story was going to be similar to Bellatemple's but then it veered off into its own, the team from the Jeffersonian teaming up with the Winchesters and Cas to stop a group of satanist cult from raising the Light-Bringer and can you just imagine the different reactions of Bones and Booth meeting the angel of the lord for the first time? Daisy approaching Dean when he was at his most angry ( read Impala-crashing fury )? Sweets trying to get not only Sam and Dean but Cas as well into therapy with him? ( angels do not need therapy omg )

And what I like most about this story is how the author handled all the characters with utmost respect and care even when they annoy the hell out of you ( and by you, I meant me of course ) in the show. Lol Daisy, anyone?

A perfect blend of comedy and suspense with a little bit of romance thrown in, just a little, there were demons to put down and an apacalypse to avert after all, I'm highly, highly recommending it to fans of both shows!!

They're both sooo good!!! And they're good stories to read during this month. I've got a number of gens bookmarked specially for this month lol.

Yours is at skip=67, I'll continue with it after raya, or when I "cuti". That was a fun read!

I really appreciate the way you recommend things, letting us know WHY you like the story. Too many times I see a list of recs that's just title, author, summary written by the author. Usually it's a story I've seen listed somewhere, and I think, "Why should I be any more excited about reading this now that I was(n't) when I saw it before?" If the reccer tells me why they think I'd like it, it gives me a much better idea of what makes this story different than the others that sound like a similar premise.

Particularly with crossovers, I kind of want assurances that both shows are treated well, and not written by someone who's seen every episode of one show, and three episodes of the other show, and thinks that's enough. So, I'll try to get to that story soon! :)

Thanks Shari, for the kind words. Sometimes I hesitate to call my recs "recs" or "reviews" because they're mostly just squees and sometimes I couldn't find the right words or expressions to convey how good the stories are but I do know what I like and what make me happy and this one is certainly one of them. I hope you'll like this story as much as I did! *hugs*

I just looked at it again, and this is the one I'm going to have to put together in order, so I can put it into one file for my Kindle. It's really uncomfortable for me to read anything on the computer for a long time. I'm getting spoiled by all the people who are providing a PDF or some kind of single file for long stories. Whenever things are posted here or on Dreamwidth, I always go to the Dreamwidth post so I can copy it as one file and convert it for my Kindle.

But back to the recs thing, yeah, even if it's just squee, at least you give me some idea of why a story makes you so happy. There are too many stories out there to weed through, so sometimes if someone recs something highly I move it higher on my "to read soon" list. The problem is finding the time to read!

Lol my reading list is soooo long now that for some of them, I can't even remember why I bookmarked in the first place!

Right! I also have very little patience anymore with the stories I start to read that don't grab me pretty quickly. If I really don't like the way a character is written, and I know I'm supposed to like them, or see them as the hero of the story, I give up on it. It's obvious that what the author wants to write, and what I want to read, are too different. That seems to be happening all too frequently at this stage of things.

I guess a lot of people are feeling that way about Show in general. I still enjoy the show overall, and the characters enough to want to see the entire story, because I trust the writers and showrunner.

With the BBs, I looked at the authors first, then the summary. If I liked, then I'd bookmark them. For some of the authors, I bookmark straightaway without even reading the summaries!

For unfamiliar authors ( I've learnt from prev BBs that new authors - new to SPN at least - could come up with some of the best stories! ), I read the summaries first, if they were interesting, I'd read the first few paras and if the writing's good, then I'd bookmark them.

But even with this "system", I end up with way too many fics to read!!

This sounds wonderful! Is it necessary to be familiar with Bones? All I know about Bones is that it involves forensics...and um bones. :)

Thanks for the rec!

No, not really. I once read a J2 written in the 'Bones' universe without knowing anything about it ( I hadn't started on Bones yet at that time ) and that fic made me curious about the show and now it's totally my happy place.

But having said that, it'll of course enhance the story more if you knew the people from Bones inside out. If it helped, the main storyline is basically a SPN casefic, Sweets is a psychiatric who wants to have Sam, Dean and Cas under his care, Booth is the FBI agent who knows about the Winchesters' criminal background and Bones is the scientist who totally doesn't believe in God and angels and demons!

You're welcome :)

Um, I can read it directly from the internet, of course, but my sis's way in saving stories is super! She always divides the chapters into short parts so it's not tiring you when reading them. :D
