TV meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] katikat.

Five returning TV shows I look forward to:
-- The Amazing Race
-- Survivor
-- Downton Abbey
-- CSI:NY
-- Bones/House/Chuck ( I can't choose from these three! )

Three shows that don’t return until 2012 that I look forward to:
-- Sherlock
-- Uhm, maybe Games Of Throne. "Maybe" because I don't keep up with the fandom and I have no idea whether there'll even be a S2 or not, much less when it's going to be aired. But I love the show and even though I haven't finished watching S1, I'm already looking forward to the next one!
-- ?

One show I actually kind of dread:
-- Supernatural ( but then, that's nothing new. I've been dreading every new season ever since Dean got mauled and went to hell ).

One show I no longer care about watching:
-- none, actually. There're some shows that I've stopped watching but not because I no longer care about them but because of the time factor. I try to catch these three now and then, especially when the synopsis/guest stars sounds good - Leverage, True Blood, Criminal Minds.

One show I’m giving one more chance:
-- maybe ... White Collar?

Five new shows I’m curious about:
Well, these aren't "new" shows but they're new to me since I haven't really watched them properly yet, no time!
-- Suits
-- Fringe
-- Mad Men
-- Friends With Benefits ( lol, yes, seriously, not that I'm an actual fan but yeah, curious )
-- Nikita, because you know, Maggie Q.

Yes, there will be a second season of Game of Thrones, I think starting in January or February. The producers plan to stick with it as long as HBO will allow them. The ratings are really good, so there's a good chance it will be around for a while. There are five completed books, with two more coming.

The fandom is...contentious, to say the least.

I'm actually looking forward to SPN, from some of the spoilers I've read.

Lol that sounds very familiar.

I've joind one comm for Downton Abbey and one comm for Benedict Cumberbatch but that's just about it in terms of new fandoms - just enough to put me in the loop but without all the high dramas. SPN fandom drama is enough to last me a lifetime, two lifetimes!

I'm glad to hear that GoT is going to continue :)

I'm getting to the point that I don't even want to read the comments people post after any new SPN news on the various TV sites. So many are extremely vocal about how displeased they are with Sam and/or Jared...some hate Castiel...some hate Season 7 already...so far no one is really bitching about Dean. I just don't want to deal with it anymore. I love the show, but as so often happens, the fans are driving me away from fandom.

GoT fans are extremely passionate, extremely opinionated, and many are very intolerant of any interpretation of things other than their own. They love to tell people how stupid they are that they didn't understand the significance of this scene or that character's motivation. Yep, very familiar. Sigh.

I haven't seen anything on my flist yet tearing down Sam, Jared, Sera, or the show in general. Constructive criticism or differing opinions are fine, but it's the way people express themselves that turns me off. I think Sam and Dean are both going to have plenty to do, and each seems to have his own storyline that yes, does involve their brother somehow. That's just the nature of the show.

So far what little I've seen of Leverage fandom seems to be much more calm and relaxed. I think a lot of it has to do with the nature of the show, and there's so much violence and negative stuff on SPN, and in GoT, it doesn't surprise me that it riles people up. OTOH, I can't seem to get behind sitcoms or family-oriented shows, so it's partly my own fault. :)

I'm looking forward to the return of Sherlock, and I'm really enjoying Rizzoli and Isles. I'm kind of looking forward to Terra Nova and Ringer, but that's all I can think of at the moment that's new that looks intriguing.
