It was fun, watching the movie Willow again. I remember watching it seven times at the theaters and I remember my ( short-lived ) crush on Val Kilmer. I mean, Madmartigan! Who wouldn't fall in love with him?

Awww, baby Elora, who wouldn't fall in love with her? I certainly did.

And I only just knew that Warwick Davies was Griphook / Flitwick in Harry Potter!

Next in line : Sherlock Holmes ( *must* watch that before the second movie comes out ), Children of Men and Rebecca ( finally managed to get that ).

Yep, I'm with you on the (rather brief) Val Kilmer crush phase.

I haven't seen the first Sherlock Holmes movie either, but I'll probably get around to it. I did get a DVD of Rebecca, but it was from Korea, I think. I turned the captions off, which helped, but it was a used copy and it froze up at least five times. In very important scenes, of course. I had to keep turning the DVD player on and off, trying to get the picture to move forward, so I kept missing bits and pieces. Still, I liked it overall. (Notice how I'm avoiding giving away spoilers!)

You must watch Sherlock Holmes, it's awesome! Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are perfect together - well, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are THE Sherlock and John for me, but Downey Jr. and Law are my second favorite Sherlockian couple.

I think I went off him some time after Batman. I still liked him in The Ghost and the Darkness though. Have you seen that one? One of my favourite movies!

I turned the captions off

They're good for some laughs though :DD

I LOVELOVELOVE that movie!!!!! And thank goodness after all these years, I still find it good. You know how sometimes after a lapse of many years, movies that you thought was good before sometimes will seem cheesy now? Willow ( and Madmartigan ) still rocks my world :D

I was 19 I think, when the movie came out. You must have been still in school then.

No, I haven't seen Top Secret. But if he was as hilarious as he was in Willow, than it must have been a wonderful movie!

Hubby has seen it and he said he fall asleep halfway. But I didn't put much stock in that since he's the "bang bang shoot 'em dead" kind of guy ( his movie taste I mean lol ). Then BBC!Sherlock came and I supposed I'm a bit reluctant to see someone else as Sherlock but see it I must because I heard that the second movie is going to be even better!

Btw, my subtitles are sorted out now. Thank youuuu!

The book was very haunting so I'm very curious as to how Hitchcock translated all that into a movie.

Also, Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock is BADASS. Seriously.

I just looked up the movie and it really doesn't seem like my cup of tea, but I'll think about it.

Butting in here to add my rec of Top Secret, and also Real Genius. Top Secret is a spoof of spy movies, and Val gets to do some singing and dancing. It's a must-see! Real Genius is also hilarious, with Val as a brilliant college student who causes all kinds of trouble. It's been a while since I've seen these, but I've seen them both multiple times.

It was very well done, and I'm hoping I can find a better copy so the suspense isn't constantly interrupted with DVD problems. I haven't read the book, so I'm not sure how faithful an adaptation it was, but it's very compelling.

Val Kilmer and Michael Douglad were stalked by two ( gay hehe ) lions when they were in Africa. It was a chilling and creepy movie, how the lions were able to "think". If I'm not mistaken, the movie was based on a true story.

Yes, from what I read, it was based on a true story, and it wasn't just the two lions, but a succession of lions, I guess, that had been stalking and killing hundreds of people, over decades. I guess there was some kind of supernatural element to the movie. Maybe I'll give it a try.
