My computer was down - twice within a few days. Just got it back yesterday. Dont know how long it'll last this time. The first time we sent it to the shop for repair it came back and hardly 24 hours later it crashed again. Yesterday I took it from the shop and there was this pimply kid ( they always seem to be pimply, eh arabia764? ) who went on and on about reformatting, RAM and hard disk while I tried my darnest to look intelligent, nodding here and there. The computer still feels a bit unstable. I hope I dont have to send it to the company center itself. The last time the motherboard went down the computer repair shop couldn't do anything and we had to send it to Toshiba. I was computerless for 3 months then :-(

5 days away from LJ and 2 persons are missing from my flist.

*sighs*

No, I havent been defriended but one of them is taking a break ( come back soon absolutefiction, LJ is not the same without you ) and the other is leaving for real. Goodbye oselle, you'll be missed. And I guess that's the end of me hoping against hope for any 'Birthright' update from her. *is sad*

Okay, will be going through my flist now. Hope I wont miss any hot fics. Do, do give me the links to fics that you've written which I might miss, please?

Hi, baby, it's good to hear from you. Abfic will be back, but we did lose Oselle. Sorry to see her go. I hope you don't lose your comp again. The computer seems to be quite okay, so far, but my broadband connection is acting up now. Dial-up is SO VERY maddeningly SLOW.

Oh you poor thing! I hope you didn't lost to much of your stuff!
I had a crash some weeks ago. The motherboard and whole graphic part are new now, but it took only one day to repair it. An eager little man in a tiny firm around the corner repaired it with the dedication of a shoemaker who repairs a pair of nice shoes. So I was two days without computer, but I lost a bunch of programs and files and I'm still about to collect everything back.
Three months without computer! That would be hard!!!

It took 3 months because they said they dont have the spare-parts or something and they have to wait for them to arrive from Japan :-(

I lost a lot of things back then too but luckily I've printed most of my favourite fics. It's Elijah's pics that I couldn't bear losing so what I do now is save them on CDs as well as at photobucket.

My mum had once this problem with the missing spare-parts too. It took them almost half a year to change a CD burner and than they wanted to charge 210 € for it! They are mad!!!

When I had my compy crash I talked just this day with a friend about saving files on DVD's. I asked something in an email, but couldn't send it away because my computer was already down.

I'm sorry you lost a lot! I had some stories written which I wanted to burn, but ... these are in each case gone for ever. That's fate.

awww baby! computer crashes are serious! *clings* I hope the problem is not in the hard disk or motherboard cus those are really serious. My sister just told me about your sms, really late I know but I'll email you in a bit and explain. ;)

Apparrently it was the hard disk. He changed it to a new one which unfortunately has a smaller memory than the original one. But to tell the truth I dont have any confidence in that guy at all. But the alternative is sending it all the way to the brand service center which is way in KL and I cant bear to be without my computer for so long!

We've had terrible problems with our kids computer. The anti-virus un-installed all by it's little old self. After many, many hours on the phone to them I am slightly in love with Tod (the head man) and we are wiping the computer back to factory settings. No idea if he's pimply but he sure sounds cute.

I have a feeling that my computer was down because of too many small hands banging on the keyboard playing games and what-nots. I've been bugging the hubby to buy a separate desktop for the kids but he said no, they already have Playstations One and Two. You're so lucky your kids have their own computer. Aaah, the luxury of not having to erase your 'history' :-)

Heh heh. It was like being in a drug rehab center, this enforced break from LJ :DD
