She said she was going to have to stay offline pretty much because she had to keep her ankle elevated! Hopefully she'll be back soon!

She last posted on Tuesday - that her ankle's still too swollen for her to feel comfortable with it in any position other than elevated except for very short periods. Having had a terrible ankle sprain about 2 years ago, I really feel for her.

*snorts* It'd likely heal more quickly if it were a fracture. Bad sprains can take 3-4x as long to heal as a fracture. It was about 6 months before my left ankle started feeling half-normal again, and it still pops and clicks and hurts on occasion.

Of course, I compounded things by herniating my L5-S1 disc three weeks later and getting sciatica/S1 neuropathy on the right, so I couldn't stay non-weight-bearing. People kept offering me crutches, and I was like, "Which leg am I supposed to not put weight on? The one with the sprain or the one with the S1 neuropathy?"

Yup, I miss her posts. Well, here's hoping that our Mews will be back with lots and lots of Zekaseys. Oh dear, I just remembered. She wrote that little ficlet where Zeke got a sprained ankle a little while back, didn't she?

I still get intermittent sciatic pain down the right leg, and my right foot cramps up on occasion. But I'm functional with anti-inflammatories available over the counter, and noone's operating on my spine unless absolutely necessary.

I really, really miss her. And I'm so happy we have this loving, caring, supportive community where we can all gather together to help one another celebrate, worry, share, and wish our dear ones a quick return to our arms.
