Another earthquake hit Sumatra yesterday and I experienced the tremors! Though I didn't know it was due to the earthquake then. I didn't actually feel the tremors myself but the spoon inside my mug suddenly started shaking for about 5 seconds. It occured twice and I was like, what the heck was going on? It did occur to me at that time "Earthquake?" but I dismissed it thinking that it might be the fridge ( the mug was on it ) that was causing the shaking.

And just before that I had somebody came in telling me that his daughter might have been possessed by an evil spirit.

*inserts spooky music*

Anyway, I forgot all about it until I heard the news on telly last night about the quake in Sumatra.

I'm still talking about that tremor to my husband and kids this morning.

First time, you know :)

I hope there won't be any follow-ups to that. The 2004 tsunami is still fresh on our mind here and needless to say we won't be going anywhere near a beach this month.

Hi sweetie. We're quite alright here, thanks. It's just that that was the first time I ever experienced something like that!

Earthquakes are spooky. I remember feeling my first tremor when I moved to southern California. It was scary and exciting, all at once. You never think the solid earth under your feet can move. Eerie.

Earthquakes happen quite often in California, doesn't it? We don't have them here but we are smack in the middle of the Ring of Fire ( that sounds quite Mordor-ish heheh ) so we do have the odd termors now and then. I've always wanted to experience the tremors, though not a major one, please :-o

We get one every few years! Tremors feel just like airplane turbulence.

Earthquakes are super freaky to me. I've been in a few minor ones in California...I prefer hurricanes, I think, because at least you know when they're coming and you can get out of the way!

Eeps, I don't want either! I do find them thrilling to watch though, but only on the National Geographic channel! :)

We don't have earthquakes here. A few yrs ago when I was in Japan and they had this notice in the hotel room telling us what to do in case of earthquakes, I was like, please, please no earthquakes while we were there please. Nowadays with all the earhquakes happening quite frequently, I feel like I don't want to go anywhere where there are volcanoes! And I do so want to go to New Zealand :/

Oh my... glad you're okay. We've had slight rolling tremors the last ten years, every now and again. Nothing huge. Your area's been assaulted lately. Gawd.
Love that you thought it was the fridge, though. Hee. :)

My husband is still sceptical about that being the tremors. He still thinks its the fridge compressor or something. Spoilsport.

a girl possessed?

Oh, we have a lot of those around. Esp in the rural areas where people still go the shamans or the likes instead of having their head scanned or visit the psyciatrists. I've never personally come across one myself but a colleague once encountered a girl being "possesed". A man's voice came out of her mouth and it took 5 men to hold her down, she was that strong.
