Is he for real?

I saw 'Keith Barry Extraordinary' last night. Yes, the one with Elijah in it. I've been looking forward to watching the show for weeks, because of Elijah mainly, but also because I like that kind of progamme. David Blaine for example. But 'Keith Barry Extaordinary' was not really what I expected it to be. For one thing, I couldn't help feeling that it was all an act! Maybe because his magic involves actors while Blaine goes to the street so that his seems more 'real' somehow. I kind of lost interest after the illusion that he did with Elijah who by the way, was ADORABLE!!!!!! I even like his sideburns and I usually don't :DD

It's not the magic itself but the feeling that I got that everyone was acting! Like I said maybe because his guests were actors so ... I don't know. I guess I prefer Creepy!Blaine's type of magic :)

I don't really remember his reaction. I had never heard of Keith Barry before and I saw the episode with Elijah from a download. I must still have that somewhere... must see if I can find it. Elijah did look really good. Heh, that I remember! :D

Oh, Elijah was goooooood! I have no problem with him. It's just Barry's magic that felt -- contrived, to me. I know that's rather a stupid thing to say because all magic are mere illusions but hee, I prefer illusions that seem more "real", if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean. I did happen to see an episode on TV not so long ago, I remembered his name from the Elijah clip and had to see it. In that he used his magic on the street full with people. He made a lot of people check his "stuff" and I guess that way it looked more real. Face to face with one person and only the cameras it harder to see how "real" the trick is. Ahh, but illusions are tricksy and some are better than others.
