Finished watching all of the episodes from Supernatural Season One. Oh wow, that last episode, oh Dean!!!! One more month to go before I get to see Season 2 and in the meantime, here's a poll that has probably been done many times before but hey, I love polls!

I'm relatively new to this fandom too. I've watched the series for quite some time but it is this fic (http://samdean.archive.nu/viewstory.php?action=printable&textsize=0&sid=976&chapter=all) that really made me fall hard for Sam and Dean. Have you read it? It's set post Devil's Trap and since you just saw that S1 finale this is the perfect time to read it, if you haven't already, that is.

Nooo, I haven't read that one, but I will! And it's multi-chaptered - yay!

The fic that turned me on to S/D is this one, which I absolutely recommend if you haven't read it yet! (Ironically, it is also set at the end of Devil's Trap!)

Basically, since I started watching the show in March, I've been trolling other people's rec lists and saving the ones I like. Wow, I just realized I've averaged about 3 fics a day! Not that I'm obsessed or anything... *looks shifty*

I'm very much into angst and h/c, also romance and err, I prefer bottom!Dean *blushes* And I do do dislike fics with sad ending, ones in which they do not end together. I made the mistake of reading one the other day - which was fabulously written - but I still feel like crying when I remember how it ended for both of them *sniffs*

I'm not into wing!fic or robot!fic and I read mpreg only if it's extremely well-written. I'm reading one now!

Honestly, they all kind of run together besides the one I linked above. That's the drawback of reading so many at once. I should set up a star ranking system or something!

However, some authors that reliably write good fics are: Astolat, Lady Jaida, Sevenfists, & Lyra_wing, so if you just scroll down the list it should be fairly easy to pick those out. Plus, it shows you how many other people have a certain fic saved, and that's also a predictor of how good a fic will be.

I'm not into wing!fic or any outlying A/U like that, so you won't find that on my list. I like the boys just as they are! More or less. ;)

My biggest ...kink, I suppose, are fics that show the build up to their relationship - the initial 'OMG, is this really happening' scenario. Oh yeah, I also get a kick out of (temporary) genderswitch fics. Heh.

I don't normally like fics that are sad, like you said, but I have to warn you that the story I linked you to will probably make you cry. However, to me it was still worth it because it's possibly one of the best fics I've ever read in any fandom. (It won't hurt my feelings, though, if you decide not to read it!)

I've just finished reading the first chapter of the fic that you you rec'd and oh my goodness, it's really, really GOOD! The dream sequence is kind of creepy though but Dean kow-towing to his Dad, and sick!Sam are real turn-ons. I'm not expecting to get much sleep tonight, between that fic and the mpreg that I'm currently reading now ( which is getting pretty angsty at the moment ).

I don't mind a good cry. I love angst. The more the better. Even if it's a death!fic. What I couldn't bear is one of them choosing another person instead of the other brother. Now that really breaks my heart :(

He'd always been there, back then. Almost always, anyway. He'd slept next to Sam, and cooked them food, did their laundry, picked up Sammy's toys, cleaned up his scrapes and bruises, cleaned up the bathroom when he threw up outside of the sink or the toilet... hell, he'd toilet trained the little bastard. Sometimes he'd hated it, hated a whole lot that he didn't get to be a kid, to go play on his own, to watch the TV program he wanted to watch when Sammy demanded they tune into his own favorite shows... It was hard, being seven and teaching a three year old how to read. But most of the time, Dean had done it. Everything. For years. Sammy had been his job, and his life... Until Sammy grew up, and didn't need him anymore. Dean had picked up full time hunting around the same time Sammy outgrew him. That took the hurt off having a teenager slam the door in your face, because you got to go hurt something else that deserved it more--still, it was hard to go from being somebody's everything to being by himself, alone except for the occasional brush with mortal danger and his dad barking orders.
