A christmas query
Dec. 24th, 2007 08:43 amJensen spent Thanksgiving with Jared and his parents. And apparently Jared is now going to spend Christmas with Jensen and his family in Dallas *flailswhimperssquees*
Thanks
tj_smartz, for making my YEAR!!!!
But general squeeing aside, what exactly are the traditions in the States ( or anywhere else for that matter ) in celebrating Christmas? I thought the children would go back to their family home for the festivities? And if you're married, do you take turns to spend time with your respective families?
And do go read
pheebs1's adorably angsty drabble on how wee!Dean helped to make wee!Sam's Chrismas better here. Gen :)
Happy Holidays, folks ♥
ETA : That should be queery, not query. Hee hee, thanks Allyson, for the timely beta :DDD

Date: 2007-12-24 02:11 am (UTC)Generally, with the Eids over here, married couple took turns to be with their respective families, and it's kind of a must for the unmarried ones to be with their own families. As for the Chinese during their Chinese New Year, if you're married, you must go back to the husband's side of the family for the big family reunion dinner.
Happy Christmas, my darling Julia!!! *smooches*

Yes, which is why it's so amusing that J&J switch up. They really are an old married couple!

Date: 2007-12-24 08:18 am (UTC)It really warms my heart to hear that they'll be together tomorrow. You know, with the writers' strike and all, I was thinking that we wouldn't be hearing anything about them anytime soon.
And how about you, love? Would you be with your folks or his this year?

Date: 2007-12-24 07:29 am (UTC)Hee, they really do sound like a married couple. "We'll go see your family for Thanksgiving, and mine for Christmas, but next year we're gonna have to do it the other way, so the in-laws don't get upset. Hey, we bringin' the kids, or leaving 'em with the grandparents?"
Merry Christmas & happy holidays!

Date: 2007-12-24 12:50 pm (UTC)They have such a perfect timing to get together, right? Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. So Jared proposed to Jensen on Thanksgiving. And then Jensen will say yes on Christmas.
Oh, oh. *hyperventilates*

Date: 2007-12-24 12:55 pm (UTC)Did you read about Jared's mum telling a student of hers that the passenger seat in Jared's truck is Jensen's? Not Sandy's, not his mum's but Jensen's OMG.
And yeah, they should just get married already!
