And yes, this fic is about Sam and Dean being turned into cats. Outside POV, this story was told from a father's perspective and it began when his 5-year-old daughter found a wounded tabby in their garden. They took the cat in, and soon after another cat turned up at their house.

A delightful story with a dash of poignancy thrown in, this is a must-read for all cat lovers, even if you're not a Supernatural fan. For Sam and Dean ( in their human forms that is ) only made their appearances right at the end of the story, so it was mostly kitty!Dean ( aka Odin ) and kitty!Sam ( aka Thor ) who were oh-so-cute and so vewwy adorable!

This story is gen - no Wincest - but cats being the way they are, I'm no expert in cats but I believe they're naturally affectionate with each other? And there was a mention of 'Brokecat Mountain' somewhere in the story :DD

But this charming fic is mostly about a young father trying his best to look after his young daughter ( just like kitty!Dean doing his best to look after kitty!Sam ). A great read indeed :)

I read this a while ago and loved it! I haven't noticed real-life cats being particularly affectionate, but possibly littermates might be. I agree, it was not only an interesting outsider POV of the boys-as-cats, but the father & daughter dynamics were very sweet. I should go read this again. :)

What I like most about this fic is how the author made it realistic. For instance, when they brought Thor to see the vet and the father refused to give a donation to the animal shelter ( or something ). I thought that was a nice, realistic touch.

And Sam the cat having visions was priceless. I thought he was injured again, or maybe an epileptic fit, before it occured to me that he was having a vision :)

But the best part is of course Odin "cuddling" to Thor, something Dean wouldn't be caught dead doing LOL.

Sam and Dean are tabbies in the fic, I'm not sure whether the cats in the pics are tabbies. Are they? Hee, in fact I first thought tabbies are female cats!

Oh yeah, they do lick each other a lot. There is a mother cat in my house who likes to lick all of the other cats. Perhaps she thinks the other cats are always dirty and never able to clean themselves. Well, most of the others are boys and you know boys are always dirty. :D

Btw, have you read a fic where Dean is adored by a cat ghost? It's because Dean and Sam then kills (maybe, I forget) the dog that kills the cat. It's so adorable! :D

Brother Cats

The night had fallen and it had begun to drizzle again. No matter how hard they tried to press their bodies against the wall, there was still nothing above their heads but the open sky, and there was no way they could evade the water. Worst of all, where was their mother?

He strained to cover the curled up Sam; still they both were soaked wet in no time. He wasn’t any bigger than his brother. Soon he could only whine and gaze down at the other in despair.

Then he began to lap at Sam’s head – the only thing he could think of to at least keep him off the rainwater.

He felt his brother stir under him and a paw shoved at his face. He frowned, ducked away from the small hand, and began to lick again, not only the head this time, but also the neck, the length of the back, the tail, the spot beneath it…

“Dean… let it go,” Sam rolled away. “I’m all right. Let’s just find mom, okay?”

But it's really hard to write kitty!Winchesters. I kept feeling doubtful about whether they used their names with each other or not, and other things. Really have to read more cat!Dean and cat!Sam fics! :D

I liked the part where the little girls says Odin was Thor's boyfriend and Dean goes "How do you know that?..."

Very cute fic. It was amazing that she could get the characterization so clear even though the cats couldn't talk and their names were different.

Poor Dean! They got mistaken as boyriends when they're human, so of course Min would think they're boyfriends when they're cats, with all those touching and snuggling and licking LOL
