Rise and shine, Sammy!

Just got back from watching 'Vantage Point'. Yeah, we chose that movie over 'Jumper' because hubby said the sypnosis made him think of 'In The Line of Fire' and that movie is one of his favourites, ever. Mine too, for that matter. I mean, Eastwood and Malkovich!
Vantage is nowhere near 'In The Line of Fire' though. While it's not that bad, it's not that good either, though it does has its moments here and there. The biggest disappointment is Sigourney Weaver. I thought she had a meatier role in it but her appearance was limited, and her character was so --- soft. I'd thought she'd be more like, say, Ripley but nope. Could hardly believe that that was actually her.
Matthew Fox was okay, though I kept thinking of him as Jack. Forest Whitaker and William Hurt are two other big names in the movie but like Sigourney Weaver, I think they were under utilized. To me the main highlight was "Desh", the assasin from 'Bourne Supremacy'. Well, not Desh actually but the other asset in NY, can't remember his name. He's quite awesome I think. And speaking of Bourne, the car chase was kind of cool, rather Bourne-ish, not as good of course but not bad.
As for the story itself, it made me think of Sam in 'Mystery Spot'. You'd know what I mean if you go see the movie. Hee, at one point it had my hubby and I saying out loud "Rise and shine, Sammy!"
Zoe was sweet, Wyn, but she appeared for such a short time, and again, so soft-spoken!
Overall, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 10.
