I love 'Dead in the Water'.

And no, it has nothing to do with Jensen himself saying that DitW is his favourite episode. Not at all. *g*
For one thing, the stills for that particular episode are absolutely breathtaking. This one for example, is my favourite. The beautiful scenery, the lake, the overall atmosphere, Sam and Dean sitting there all loose-limbed and guh, looking just so very gorgeous.

Hee, this pic cracks me up. I mean, what is it with the stance? Both of them, too! At first I thought that the jetty ( or whatever it was that they were standing on ) might be wobbly but the other two guys were standing normally. So why? Does anyone have any idea?

And Jensen watching the make-up girl applying fake suntan (?) on Jared, his face scrunched up and Jensen with that intense look on his face. He looked the way he did in ELAC, when Sam was talking to him, just before he smashed the Impala. I wonder, I wonder very much what Jensen was thinking of at that time :)

pics from here
Agent Ford and Agent Hamill. Or was that in 'Wendigo'? I can't quite remember but little did Dean knew that "Agent Hamill" would later on be somewhat like Luke's father!

He looked adorable here. And yeah, Dean knows it, too :)

Ripped jeans have never looked this sexy on anybody else.

Jared has definitely more than three inches on Dean. And without that leather jacket, Dean would look even smaller than that. Size kink!

Another lovely shot.

I love the way they ran here. Dean was ahead but Sam caught up with him easily enough with his long, long legs.

Favourite gag reel ever!!! This one is right up there with the one where Sam drove and Dean put his head on Sam's lap and Sam looking down at him in 'Route 666'. I thought Sam was still in character there until Jared laughed out loud. How I wish that scene part of that episode!

Pics aside, I love that episode for the way Dean interacted with Lucas and how he managed to communicate with the boy. I wonder whether he remembered how it was when he himself didn't talk after the fire. Jensen said something about 'Dead in the Water' was when he truly "found" Dean, and I love that. I really love that.
Another part that I love about the episode was when Sam asked Dean how many kids he knew and I was like, 'You, Sam, he knew you!' But I guess Sam didn't really count because Dean himself was a kid then, too, but still, I like to think that Dean knew how to handle kids because he had hands-on experience with looking after his little brother.
That scene in the lake with Lucas, which they did themselves, that was pretty awesome. And Ju-on was scary!!
Omg, I can't wait for the next episode of Supernatural. I hope I'd be able to download it by Saturday morning latest.

I haven't watched this ep in forever, now I must! It is a good one, one I think I often forget about in lieu of other faves, and I definitely want to rewatch it after Jensen's talk of it lately.
Sam didn't really count because Dean himself was a kid then, too, but still, I like to think that Dean knew how to handle kids because he had hands-on experience with looking after his little brother.
That's always been my canon, and I don't think Dean really ever got to be much of a kid, not after Mary died and John was broken and Sam needed caring for. It might not have been as bad at first, but I'm sure he took to Sam as his responsibility out of necessity really quickly...
And it's just been so much a part of Sam's life, he doesn't even realize :(

Date: 2008-04-24 12:17 pm (UTC)Jared, not Sam? I love that, how we can talk about characters and actors and... I know what I mean!
I love that episode as well, it's the one that really *caught* me. There is something special about it.
On a completely different topic: I've just read a porn!starts J2 and it's left me all twitchy. I kept thinking, 'That's not right, Jensen isn't like that. Jared wouldn't do that.'
I really wish I hadn't read it, ever felt like that about a fic?

Date: 2008-04-25 03:47 am (UTC)Mandi wajib, eh? Heheh.
I remember a story of a high school principal here who always have to find boys who don't go to masjid for shalat Jumat. And they told him, "BMW, Pak." That's for Belum Mandi Wajib. Hahaha.

Date: 2008-04-25 03:26 am (UTC)Which porn-star fic was that? 'Days in our lives' or 'Off the script'? I adore both :))
I don't have problems with them being a bit out of character when the story is an AU. Unless there's no love between them, that I couldn't stomach, or them being made to be extra-extra girly, yeah, that would make me twitchy. But Jared manhandling Jensen? Bring it ON!!
Email me about that fic?

Date: 2008-04-24 12:59 pm (UTC)Heheheh.
The way they stood like that? I thought they were taking a leak. *giggles* And the intense look on Jensen, well, I'm going to be all naive here - I think Jensen was thinking of what prank he could do to Jared when he was like that. But I'm not really naive, so.
Guh. Dead in the Water is where Dean is so, so very sexy surfacing from under the water! Btw, that magazine awards, did they ask the sexiest scene? I don't think so. :(

Date: 2008-04-25 03:35 am (UTC)I thought that, too! Or maybe they were trying to outdo each other - my stance is wider than yours - thing. Who knows with them being the way they are.
And hee, the camera had caught Jensen giving Jared one of his "looks". Again!
Dean surfacing from the water, I thought that was a stunt double doing that, and when I read that he did that himself, oh wow, that was beyond awesome. So cool!

Date: 2008-04-24 01:41 pm (UTC)It's possible this was early enough that they didn't really have the back story defined all that well.

Date: 2008-04-25 03:47 am (UTC)I wish that too! To be honest, I'm not really happy with the boy who played young!Dean, in 'Wicked Things' and 'A Very Supernatural Chrismas'. I didn't get the "Sam-is-the-most-important-thing-in-my-life" vibe from that actor, but I did get the "Sam-loves-Dean" feel from the actors who played young Sam in both episodes. They were different actors, right?
Omg, we so need another flashback episode, one with John in it, omg I miss him so much.

Date: 2008-04-24 01:41 pm (UTC)I have to say Dead In the Water is one of my favorites too. I don't think Jensen was the only one who "found" Dean in this episode, for me at least, it was the first time we got a real good look at Dean not just as the cocky hunter but much further beneath the surface.
And I was the same. When Sam was giving him stick about liking kids I was thinking "But Sam, look at what an awesome job he did with you - how can you doubt him?".
I can't wait for the next episode either. Alas my sister and her husband is coming to stay for the weekend so I can't even download until Sunday arvo (if I am lucky) or Sunday night (most likely). *pouts*

Date: 2008-04-25 04:01 am (UTC)Dean has so many layers to him. I really wish they'd do a flashback episode that really shows how Dean took care of Sam and if they did, I hope they won't use the same actor to play young Dean.

Date: 2008-04-28 07:21 am (UTC)I would love for a good flash back episode, one were we see the nice side of Dean looking after Sam. So far it has all been bad situations or when they fought. And I don't think that young Dean actor could do an episode like that justice, so yes, lets hope they replace him.

Date: 2008-04-25 04:07 am (UTC)it would be easier to stand with a wide stance.
And there goes my pervy thoughts ;P;P;P
I love Andrea from the show. She's one of my favourite female guest stars and that's saying a lot because if I had my way I prefer SPN without any female guest stars. Except Ellen. I adore Ellen. And Mary of course :)

Date: 2008-04-24 10:25 pm (UTC)Isn't this the first episode that Kim Manners directed? I remember both boys saying how wonderful Kim was when he came aboard and how much he improved their characters and helped them with defining the characters, or something to that effect. Yep it was my fave kind of show--lots of character development but also with good scary elements. :-)

The other one I really love is this:
I'm kinda curious as to what he's pointing at...
no subject
Date: 2008-04-25 04:22 am (UTC)Jensen was probably pointing at some weeds or something. He had to dive into the lake and he probably wanted to make sure that there was nothing poisonous there *g*
