The flist's sort of quiet and I was worried that the show might have been bad. Quite unlike last week where almost every other post was about how awesome the show was ( or awful, depending on how they felt about it ). But yeah, I was preparing myself to be disappointed with it.

It wasn't bad, the hair at the back of my neck fairly stood up when Lanie - thank you Kripke, what a lovely name - saw the ghostly reflection on her computer screen.

And Dean getting his hopes up when he heard what he thought was his dad's voice, can it get any angstier than that? I knew beforehand that Dean was going to receive that phonecall ( darn spoilers ) so no shock there when I saw JDM listed as one of the guest stars. Dean waiting for his phone to ring while Sam slept. Sam being suspicious about it while Dean, oh Dean, he wanted to believe so badly that John could save him. And Dean following orders without questions. Oh Dean, John said jump and he asked how high, just like old times.

Sam is the big question mark to me now. Is Sam doing anything? Has he got anything up his sleeves that he wasn't telling Dean about? Because really, other than Ruby, it sure does look like Sam hasn't got any plans at all :(

I badly wanted to see JDM in the show, and when the show ended, I was like, is that it? Shouldn't there be a TBC or something? I want more!!

I'm not disappointed, but it left me wanting for more!

I was rather surprised though, Dean being so eager to talk to John, considering what he said about John in 'Dream a little dream of me'. Oh well ...

There were a lot of things I liked about this episode, and a whole lot of things that reminded me of that fic I mentioned "Blind Spot"--lots of the same issues going on so sometimes it felt like that fic being filmed. :-D It seems that Sam and Dean are kind of trading roles a lot in many ways. Sam seemed so much the opposite from how he was in "Faith", and so is Dean. And Sam seems to be sort of distancing himself, maybe getting ready for the blow he's kind of resigned himself too.

There were many other things I had problems with, primarily motivation of characters including the MOTW. It was a bit muddy at times, or maybe like it was taken out of the oven too early. But the SamnDean interaction was good.

Loved those clips you linked to! I'm really worried about what budget cuts will mean for next year--even less classic rock, less special effects, I dunno. However, I won't mind long dialogue scenes at all. :-)

IMO the ghostly reflection on the computer screen was way scarier than that Dementor-thing. Goes to show that less *is* actually more, doesn't it?

And Sam looked real pretty, love his hair. But I felt like shaking him or something because I didn't see him doing anything!

I've just watched it for the second time just now. It's much better the second time around actually. And my husband LOVES it :)

I loved it. And I wasn't disappointed at all. But then, I never liked John Winchester because he totally screwed Dean up *shrugs*

I think that people are disappointed by the new episodes because during the strike and the hiatus afterwards, they basically glorified the show for themselves and now they are overly critical of every tiny thing *shrugs*

Love it now that I've seen it for the second time. But I'm still a bit frustrated with John's part in it. Maybe because I've had very high hopes that John would make an appearance, and not just a voice on the phone. Which turned out that to be that Clark-thing at that. I was hoping for a twist at the end, that it was John after all.

I agree. I loved so much of it, the banter, the humor, the angst. But it didn't feel like the thrid last episode to me. I felt like I should have felt more. *is not making sense*

I like it much better now that I've watched it twice. Maybe because I had very high hopes of seeing John the first time I watched it that I felt cheated when there was only his voice!

I have no idea what's going to happen in the last 2 episodes and I hope it's going to stay that way until next Friday. But it takes a lot of willpower not to click on the spoilers link!

I really felt it was a return to the type of episodes from Season one and two - so I loved it alot. Just gave me the impression that Kripke is done with his experimenting and has his idea of what Supernatural is and was firmly again. I think alot of people were disappointed when we got so little of John. But dude, just hearing his voice had me sitting up and squeeing Daddy Winchester!! Some how I had managed not to see his name in the beginning credits.

I have no clue about the last two episodes and dude, I am such a spoilerphobe so I have no inclination to click any links. I like going into an episode blind and just roll with it.

Hey, what do you know about next season? Anything? I have heard something floating around and wanted to ask someone about it but don't want to spoil you either.

I accidentally read a comment someone made to an interview Jared gave in 'Cult' magazine in which he speculated about Sam and Dean. I hated what he said, and unless you're talking about the same thing, then I don't want to worry you needlessly. And he was speculating so I wouldn't put much weight on what he said. But yeah, if what he said turned out to be true, then I don't think I'm going to like that very much :(

What about that thing you heard? Was it good or bad?

Ah no. This wasn't speculation about Sam and Dean (*frets now*) - but it was about the fate of some of the other characters. And if its true then I think it is bloody awesome!

My mistake was that I had this preconceived idea on what was going to happen in that episode. I was spoiled beforehand, knowing that Dean was going to receive a call from John.

I've watched it again just now, and I found myself liking it so much more now, now that I have taken the Dean-meets-John equation out if it :)

I can understand that might have had an effect. I missed the credits as I watched the first time (and fortunately hadn't been spoiled), so while I figured it probably would feature a call from John, I wasn't sitting there waiting for it...

I'm pleased you like it more now :)

Hm. I have to admit I don't really pay attention to Sam (as always, bad me). It was Dean and Dean, and poor Dean. *sobs*

You've watched it! Laynie is a wonderful girl, isn't she? :DD

But yeah, poor Dean. Despite what he said about John in 'Dream a Little Dream of me', he still loves his father. Still wanting to please his father, still following orders. And he wanted to believe so much that it was John he was talking to. If let's say, that was Jim or Caleb on the phone, he probably wouldn't have been so ready to believe that a dead person can communicate with the living like that.

And his expression when he realized that he had been tricked, his "I don't know".

*clutches heart*

Laynie, heheh. I was thinking of you immediately! Though my sis said it was a reminder of Lana Lang.

This episode actually gets into my heart a lot. *sobs*

It was true in Dream Dean was thinking that. But being contradicted with the man himself? He mustn't be that strong. Oh dear. How mean Kripke is to make Dean like that. And his expression like that? He's really breaking apart. *bawls*
