Saturday 7.50 am
Dec. 16th, 2006 07:46 amAnd I'll be leaving for work soon.
I work half-day on Saturdays. Today, as of late, I won't be bringing the laptop to work with me. I've designated Saturdays as my Reading Day. My Book-Reading Day,to be precise. With no LJ for me to peek into every half-hour or so. And if the day is not too busy I should be able to finish quite a number of chapters.
I'm currently reading 'Sideways' by Rex Pickett. It has been languishing in my bag for many, many months. I'm now at pg 22. Very slow progress I'm making. The thing is, I need to reach the 'Point of No Return' before I can speed up on my reading. You know, when you reach the part when you simply must go on with the story no matter what, when you start bringing the book with you everywhere you go - to lunch, inside the car, while queueing at the banks or post-office ( it's amazing how fast the line moves when you're engrossed in a good book ). And yeah, that's when you're not so inclined to refresh your flist to see whether there's any update on your favourite fics *g*
So I'm hoping to reach that particular Point with this book today so that I can finish it and get on with the rest of my novels. Heh, my Stephen Kings are looking very inviting too. His latest on my shelf is ' Cell' which I bought along with Kim Edward's 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter' and Paolini's 'Eldest' which is the sequel to Eragon.
Then maybe I'll watch 'Sideways' the movie. Has anyone seen the movie or read the book?
Have a good weekend, everybody!
