Movies, one old and one old-ish.
Feb. 25th, 2010 04:34 pmNim's Island is such a delightful movie! I thought it was going to be a horror thriller or something, maybe because I've got Harper's Island on my mind at that time. But oh my, the girl who played Nim was so adorable and so were Gerard Butler and Jodie Foster as the borderline geeky scientist and the borderline agoraphobic adventure writer. I really, really enjoyed that movie!
And a couple of nights ago I watched Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves. I used to have this huge crush on Kevin Costner and I watched that movie, like, 7 times at the theatre. Yes, I loved Costner *that* much and I remember being irritated at the criticisms thrown at his potrayal of Robin Hood. But with the passing of years ( and my crush on him ), I could see where and how he was not actually that great in it. That hairpiece for one. And his American accent. It didn't feel awkward to me back then but it is so now. But I still love the movie and it brings back fond memories of those days, swooning over him with my girlfriends. And Alan Rickman is still AWESOME even after all these years and so's Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio who played the fiesty Maid Marian.
And now I can't wait to see the next Robin Hood movie. I've seen its trailer and it looked deliciously dark. I'm not much of a fan of Russell Crowe but I like Cate Blanchett and I'm looking forward to see her as Maid Marian. ETA : And this song omg. It killed me then. It still does.
Speaking of trailers and hairpieces, I saw the trailer of Clash Of The Titans the other day and I'm so glad that Sam Worthington didn't wear one. Hairpiece I mean. Bad or otherwise. He looked good!
And also, do, do take a look at my brand new wallpaper!
