Nim's Island is such a delightful movie! I thought it was going to be a horror thriller or something, maybe because I've got Harper's Island on my mind at that time. But oh my, the girl who played Nim was so adorable and so were Gerard Butler and Jodie Foster as the borderline geeky scientist and the borderline agoraphobic adventure writer. I really, really enjoyed that movie!

And a couple of nights ago I watched Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves. I used to have this huge crush on Kevin Costner and I watched that movie, like, 7 times at the theatre. Yes, I loved Costner *that* much and I remember being irritated at the criticisms thrown at his potrayal of Robin Hood. But with the passing of years ( and my crush on him ), I could see where and how he was not actually that great in it. That hairpiece for one. And his American accent. It didn't feel awkward to me back then but it is so now. But I still love the movie and it brings back fond memories of those days, swooning over him with my girlfriends. And Alan Rickman is still AWESOME even after all these years and so's Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio who played the fiesty Maid Marian.

And now I can't wait to see the next Robin Hood movie. I've seen its trailer and it looked deliciously dark. I'm not much of a fan of Russell Crowe but I like Cate Blanchett and I'm looking forward to see her as Maid Marian. ETA : And this song omg. It killed me then. It still does.

Speaking of trailers and hairpieces, I saw the trailer of Clash Of The Titans the other day and I'm so glad that Sam Worthington didn't wear one. Hairpiece I mean. Bad or otherwise. He looked good!

And also, do, do take a look at my brand new wallpaper!

Bond. Jensen Bond. Hee!

Too bad Jensen is not English. But hey, at least he's part Irish, right? He's qualified to be Bond! \o/

Too bad he's not speaking with the accent. It will be weird to hear Bond with Texas accent! Hahahaha

A-ha! But I'm sure he could do it. Speak with a British accent I mean. *flails at the thought of Jensen with a British accent*

Damn, don't tease me like this! I'm now ruined for any future Bond movie unless they somehow make Jensen the new Bond. He'd make the prettiest Bond for sure!

Guh, they won't even need to have any Bond girls with him as Bond!!

Hehe, *nods* it would be unfair to those Bond girl 'coz boobs notwithstanding, he would've been prettier than them.

*nods* Yes, yes! And omg the lashes. I'm totally objectifying him here, aren't I? I'm allowed I think 'coz I'm a little loopy as a result of my pain meds.

On second thought, the heck with Bond girls. These days bromance is all the rage anyway... ;-)

Those two are soooo different from each other! Have you seen Harper's Island, Fin?

I've seen a little bit of one episode, but I know what its about! :P

I'm at episode 4 and I'm finding it a bit wierd that there was no uproar yet with almost half-a-dozen people already dead and I have to keep telling myself that that was a small island with one sheriff and not CSI:NY!

Date: 2010-02-26 03:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weird-fin.livejournal.com
I never thought to compare it to the CSI's etc. It sounded very "dramatic" with a death every week almost? LOL.

Alan Rickman in Robin Hood was ***BRILLIANT*** I can watch it over and over again just for him. I quite liked Kevin but Alan acted him off the screen - even though he was so over the top at times it was funny.

Alan's acting never gets old! I LOVE him in the first Die Hard, and he's also the reason why Snape's my favourite character in Harry Potter. I like book!Snape too but Alan Rickman made him all the more delicious!

Kevin Costner's American accent didn't bother you? It didn't before ( he couldn't do no wrong then! ) but it does now. Heheh, I think everyone out-acted him, from Will to Marian to Little John.

We get used to American accents, the worst is their attempts at English accents - it's very rare you get a good one.

I keep watching the first Die Hard hoping Alan Rickman will win out in the end!

What do think of the accent of the other American actors in that movie? I thought they were good but then I'm not British so for all I know Christian Slater's or Mary Elizabeth's British talk sucked heheh.

Be honest it's years since I've seen it, I can't remember properly. Most of the time I just let the accents wash over me because American's don't get them right. But then the VERY worst London accent I've ever heard is Charlie Hunnan (sp?) in Greenstreet. That was truly, truly appalling and he's from the north of England!

Did you watch the whole thing, Claudia? I'm at episode 4 now and I'm kind of bewildered that the people at the house party didn't seem to notice that half-a-dozen people had been killed!

It was totally weird when like people would be killed and then like nobody would wonder where they went or why they weren't back yet! :D I never finished the whole thing. The female actresses all started to annoy me. They all looked alike, scrawny with long, shaggy hair! :D

The movie was such a joy, wasn't it? I watched it without knowing anything much about it except that it had Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler in it ( I love both ) and that there was a child in it. I was expecting it to be some kind of a horror flick and it was a very pleasant surprise indeed, that movie. All three of the actors were so cute!!

I'm so with you on Kevin Costner! I was also a huge fan of his Robin Hood. I may not feel the same anymore but the memories of that time (and of the movie) makes me love it still. I still want to get Dances with Wolves on DVD. I haven't seen it since it was new and that was my favorite of his. Saw it MULTIPLE times.

Lovely wallaper!

Hee, I even slashed Robin/Will at one point. Only in my head though as fandom as we know now didn't exist then.

You're very welcome ♥
