Omg I can't believe it, two more days and the long wait will be over. I can't wait to see how their reunion's going to be like, how has Sam been without Dean and has he turned evil? And Dean himself, what he's going to be like after his ordeal in hell?

Two more days!!! Well, maybe three or even four for me, depending on when I could download it. The computers are in tip-top condition, and the connections have been awesome the past few days, especially at the office. Look like the stars and the planets are aligned straight and true *g*

And taken from [livejournal.com profile] goodbyetoyou : When you see this, post another Supernatural quote in your lj. Let's see how long this can go on for.

Dean to Sam : "As long as I'm around, nothing bad is gonna happen to you".
And Sam to anybody who dares : "Only he gets to call me that."

2. 'Fresh Blood' end scene. Again, another of my least favourite episode, but oh my God. This scene? It gets me all choked up each time I watch it. And I've been watching this part again and again and again.

Sam and Dean by the roadside, Dean under the hood of his baby, tinkling with the engine. Sam hands Dean a beer. "Figure out what's making that rattle?"
Photobucket

Dean seems to contemplate something, then makes his decision. He calls Sam to the car, and starts telling him about the various parts of the engine.
Photobucket

Sam looks bemused.
Sam : "What with the auto shop?"
Dean : "You fix it."
Sam : "You barely let me drive this thing."
Photobucket

Dean says that Sam should know how to fix the car, for the future ...
Dean : "Showing my little brother the ropes."
Photobucket

After a brief hesitation, Dean lets Sam have a go at his car. He seems ... resigned.
Photobucket

I love this scene so very, very much. I cried the first time I watch it. Dean LOVES the Impala. He calls it, her, his baby. And like Sam said, Dean hardly ever let him drive it, much less fix it. And there he was letting Sam has his way with the Impala! I think that was one of the very first moments that Dean realized that his time was drawing near, and he would be leaving the Impala, with Sam. And apparently Sam knows nothing about cars! Which I found it hard to believe at first, because men usually know at least a little bit about cars but Sam even seemed unsure what a carburator is. I know what a carburator is. I think.

Anyway, watching this choked me up, each and every time. Dean hasn't got many in terms of material things, but the Impala is the one thing that he cherishes above all others. And he's leaving it to Sam, the person whom he cherishes above all others. And Sam understands this.

Meh. My brother doesn't even know how to change a tire. So. >_>

Resigned is such a PERFECT word to describe the boy right there. And it tugs my heart string EVERY SINGLE TIME. *clutches heart*

His one and only thing of any value. Materialistic thing I mean. His love for Sam is priceless.

Yes. It's practically his home, their home and he hands in Sam the key from it.

That scene is so beautiful, such a contrast to the whole gory episode, and it came right after Sam killed Gordon, too ...

I adore this scene so much. *loves*

"Sam even seemed unsure what a carburettor is. I know what a carburettor is. I think."
Heh, I can completely relate to Sam there. Cars and I do not get along at all.

This scene tears me into tiny little pieces, each and every time.

This should have been in my list. :( The list should be longer. Oh Dean. Oh Sam. The Impala is Dean's beloved. To hand it down to his little brother like that... *sniffs*

Of course he'd give the Impala to Sam. I was hoping that Dean would give Sam his amulet and his ring, too, but maybe that would be too corny and chick-flick.

Jared and Jensen brought off that scene perfectly.

My brother is completely useless with cars. I, on the other hand, on account of having owned a 1986 VW Golf in 2002 (Car: Older than my brother and many of its regular passengers), am a pretty dab hand at fixing most of the basic things that go wrong. And I definitely laughed at Sam having to be told where and what the carburator is, because it was the one part of my car that kept failing, so I definitely know how to fix THAT.

Ooops, I spelt carburator wrong.

*fixes*

I think Sam's pretty much sheltered by Dean before this. Why did he need to get his hands dirty when his big brother is there to do it for him!

I adore this scene, for all the same reasons! It's just wonderful and heartbreaking, and just rings so very true for them.

I thought it kind of cute really, that Sam didn't know much about cars. He was busy studying when he wasn't hunting, then he went to Stanford and after that Dean's the one who did everything for the Impala.

I wonder what the Impala's going to be like after being under Sam's care in S4.

From: [identity profile] shadowc44.livejournal.com
Well, as obsessive as he tends to be, no matter how distracted he is by more important things, Sam won't dare neglect the Impala. If he's dead-set on bringing Dean back, and we know he's got to be, he'll want the car to be ready for him. I don't think he'd want to disappoint Dean by not taking proper care of his baby.

He was still driving it after 6 months or so in Mystery Spot, and it didn't seem to be falling apart. I'm not saying he's going to be washing and polishing it every week, but I think he'll want it to look good, as well as run decently. And if he doesn't take care of the car, he'd need to spend money he doesn't have to get another car, or take the risk of stealing car after car, and that's just not smart.

I was hoping that he'd leave his ring to Sam as well, but that's too chick-flick I guess.

Good point about the ring. He kept the necklace, but Dean was wearing the ring when his hands came out of the dirt. Now how does that make sense? Surely Dean should have been 100% nekkid when he was "reborn"?

Date: 2008-09-20 04:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
My take on that was Dean leaving the ring for Sam to find, maybe in the Impala or something, but not the amulet because that was Sam's gift to him. And it didn't cross my mind that Sam would take the amulet. Amulet=protection, maybe?

Sam took a different path from Dean, when he decided to go to college. I think he subconsciously was trying to make himself as different from his brother and father as he could, so he paid no attention to cars. Dean was probably taught to fix cars or guns or anything else they needed for hunting from the time he was old enough to stand up and hold a tool. John would've seen to that, and Dean would've broken his back trying to please his father. So Sam doesn't really know a lot of the things he needs to know after Dean leaves him. It's a powerful scene, all right.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Sam wanted his "normal", and sadly that didn't include his father and his brother. But I still think that he wouldn't have cut them off altogether if John didn't say what he said when Sam went off to college. Or if Dean sided with him. That is one of the greatest "what-ifs" for me. I wonder how their family dynamics would have been if Sam went to Stanford with John's blessings. But that man was too obsessed with the demon that he couldn't think straight, and Dean was too busy being the good son. Most people say that Sam was being selfish when he decided to stop hunting, but I don't, not really. The Winchesters is one messed-up family indeed :/

With dial up? It takes me an hour to download a 2minute video on YouTube! And after 2 hours my internet connection cuts of.

Yeh, I could sign up for (rather slow) Broadband, but there's a downside to that... My webpage is with Tiscali, whom I wouldn't use for Broadband connection, and the amount of work to set up a new fiction website is more than I've got time for at the moment. So... if I go Broadband, bye bye fanfiction.

I think Dean is not only resigned now, but also is beginning to finally let himself think about how much this is hurting Sammy, and how much Sammy needs some simple 'brother time' before Dean is gone. *smooch*

Oh yes, I agree with you! And this is also one of the scenes where Dean is at his big-brother best, the other one being that scene where Dean gets Sam to sing 'Dead or Alive'.

And when they were watching the football game together on TV during their Christmas is another true brother moment to me. That is exactly what all the men in my extended family did on Christmas--my dad and his brother, then my cousins who were brothers, and my brothers. Family time. :-)

I had this pegged as your number one. It kills me to watch this scene. Dean giving away his prize possession and Sam accepting it?

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

*wails*

It was here that I knew beyond a doubt that there was no way they would let Sam get Dean out of the deal. I KNEW he was going down. And, illogically, I was so mad at Sam for giving in, kinda.

*wails more*

This is what I love about our show, it can be lovely and god awful all at once. Kripke well and truely deserves his title of Evil Bastard.

I had no heart left by the end of that scene.
