I'm watching Bond's Quantum of Solace tonight!

I'm kind of excited over this movie. I'm not really into any of the Bond movies actually, pre-Craig, I mean. But the last one's good, and I think I'm going to enjoy this one. Still am a Bourne girl, though. And I'm tickled that the Bourne vs Bond argument is up again. Here's one such link, excerpts of the comments under a cut to spare the Bond girls on my flist.

Bourne made the producers of Bond realize how crap their films had become, and Casino Royale was a knee jerk reaction to Bourne. Personally I think the Bourne films are immensely better thus far(particularly the last two.

... neither Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace would have been made the way they have been if it wasn't for Paul Greengrass outstanding, genre-changing final two installments of the Bourne Trilogy.

Are we really asking who'd win in a fight? Because if so, Bourne, one round, by knockout. Not even a question.

And my own thoughts on Bond v Bourne here

Plenty of those for Bond as well, but for me, it'll always be Bourne, both the book version ( whom I used to imagine looking like McGyver ) and the movie version ( Matt Damon omg!! ). But Craig is not bad, really. One a spy in a fantasy world, and the other in the gritty, "real" world. I guess you can't really compare these two, eh?

And speaking of spies, go read fleshflutter's Someone You Might Have Been if you haven't already. It's a totally awesome Jared/Jensen AU in whuch Jared's a secret agent and Jensen's his handler. Full of twisted plots and angst and dramas and hot sex and a love-story that's to die for!

When I first read the books, McGyver was pretty much my hero, my heartthrob, so of course I just had to picture Bourne looking like him then!!

The show is on at 9.45 tonight. 2 hours plus to go!!

I loved the Bourne movies, well except the girl dying and according to a friend at work he says she didn't in the book and that pissed him off.

I love, let me stress LOVE Daniel Craig. I don't care if he's not your typical, tall dark and suave sterotype Bond I think he's an awesome actor and a damn fine Bond.


I love fleshflutter's story and can't wait for the next update. Although if it's sitting in my inbox I'm going to be fairly pissed at myself for not seeing it because there are certain stories that I will jump the email line to look for.

Yes, the movies differ A LOT from the books and I'm quite alright with that, and it's not only Marie the girl, but also a lot of other things as well.

Fleshflutter's story is breaking my heart into a million peices right now *cries* Omg, I hope they find each other again sooooon ...

Bourne for the win!

I don't care about Bond actually but old movies were classic - humorous and stylish. New ones? It's just ordinary action movie - no class at all. They lose their unique atmosphere. Imho, of course.

Bourne on the other hand create its own atmosphere and Matt is way better actor. :)
No offence intended, just my opinion.

My plotline would be something along this line - Bourne is starting to get his memory back, right? And now he's remembering things, a family, a little brother ... which would be played by Jensen of course!!

There's a scene in the Bond movie - he was cuffed and surrounded by secret agents, getting transfered to another location, that so made me think of Jensen cuffed with the ISA people guarding him, getting him to another place away from Rosenbaum!
