LOL, Slasher Santas?
And I just found out that 'paladin' is actually a word. It means :
paladin \PAL-uh-din\, noun:
1. A knight-errant; a distinguished champion of a medieval
king or prince; as, the paladins of Charlemagne.
2. A champion of a cause.
Btw, I LOVE my new Elijah's 'You've got mails's alerts. Beat the 'pings' any time. Thank you

Date: 2005-12-27 04:07 pm (UTC)Paladin is a beautiful word, isn't it? Many years ago, there was a television series called "Have Gun, Will Travel" about a gunfighter named Paladin in the old west who was a kind of Knight-errant, who would take on bad guys for a price. But he usually wound up being noble and protecting the weak and innocent just because it was the right thing to do. Fantasy, but very good fantasy.
So here's a ping for you too, sweetie.

I wonder whether any of the other names that Tolkien used has any specific meanings - Peregrin for instance?
