Do you ever have problems with typing out certain words? And by that I don't mean long, complicated words like tyronausaurus (sp?) or whatever but simple, everyday words. Like the word "friend" for instance. I always seem to mistype that as "frined" or "freind". The other word is "eight" - I have to stop and think after the letters "e.i.g" - whether it should be eight or eigth. So of course the word "eighth" would be an ever bigger problem - eigthth? Meeps.

I actually mis-type my own last name quite frequently!

You mis-type that as Janet Bagins? ;P

Firend for "friend"? :))

I hardly use the spell-check on LJ but I probably should use it, editing a post sometimes up to three times can be a hassle, as I'm sure the recipient is annoyed by the row of edited comments in her inbox!!

lol, yep firend for 'friend', my fingers seem to prefer that spelling!!!!!! I asked my son to put the spell-check on for me, which is just as well, and when I'm tired I can easily still miss mistakes like 'were' when I wanted 'where' *~*

Mischievous and convenience. And yes, I had to right click on both of them to get the right spelling. You should've seen me at my old job (a convenience store clerk!) and our air conditioning broke down. My boss told me to close early, so I went to make a note to put on the door: "Due to problems with our air conditioning, we are closed. Sorry for the inconviene..." *crumple* "inconvei..." *crumplecrumple*... I still have the 'rough drafts' stuck in the old notebook I'd used. It's hilarious.

I don't have problem with either word but I do have problem with "than" and "then", when I should use one or the other. Is there a simple way to remember, like the way you remember "stalactite" is the one that has to hold "tight" onto the roof of the cave and "stalagmite" is the one that "might" fuse with the one above?

Forty is one of my problem words. I often type it as fourty. And guarantee. I have to look it up half the time.

Just some of the usual: teh and Frood. :) But my ISP is optonline.net, and I find myself typing otponline.net *g* Also, I sometimes accidentally type www.liverjournal.com, I have no idea why.

Maintenance. Maintainance. I don't even know which one is right! And like the commenter above, I also have trouble with forty.

I also have trouble pronouncing the word 'question'. It just never rolls off my tongue as easily as other words. Yeah I don't know either.

Ques-tee-yen or quest-syen, right? I myself have problems with the word victim. Is it vic-teem or vic-term?

And of course, the age-old "flar" or "flower". I've always pronounced flour as "flar" but apparently the right way to pronounce it is "flower"?

Date: 2009-04-15 02:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com
Oh yeah, that's a problem too. Which is why I usually just end up saying 'tepung'. :D

But seriously, I find it funny to pronounce flour as "flower". I kept imagining making pisang goreng with flowers floating/blooming around you *head-desk*

From: [identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com
*applauds* You say pisang goreng! It usually drives me nuts when people say goreng pisang. I mean, we don't say we makan goreng ikan, right? We say ikan goreng! So why does pisang goreng have to be different?

LOL sorry for that!

It's interchangeable for me actually, sometimes I say pisang goreng, sometimes goreng pisang ... *cowers*

tyronausaurus (sp?)

It's Tyrannosaurus actually. *giggles*

And I always mistype when, into wehn, and any word with "h" in it. Why is it so difficult to push an "h"? Never has a problem writing these words: Jared, Jensen. :D

Date: 2009-04-15 07:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Well, thank goodness Jensen's name isn't Johnson or something hee hee. Hmm, not a single "h" in their names - Jensen Ross Ackles and Jared Tristan Padalecki. And I don't have any problems typing their names either!

Date: 2009-04-15 09:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ala-tariel.livejournal.com
Yeah, good thing there's no "h" in their names. But, even if their names had "h", I wouldn't do the mistype. :D

I sometimes type entirely different words. I'm a huge Highlander, the series fan. Whenever I want to type 'method', I keep typing 'methos'.

*facepalm*

Another word I have a problem with is 'field'. Sometimes I type 'filed'. LOL.

As for mytyping, I typed 'differnt', instead of 'different'. LOL.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
But not "menthos", eh? :DD

Are you a two-finger typer? I've heard it said that these problems occur with those who type with two fingers instead of all ten.

Dean Smith typing in 'It's A Terrible Life', I wonder whether he was typing real sentences there because if so, that was FAST!

Date: 2009-04-16 06:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] prism2me.livejournal.com
I can actually type with all fingers. I still make mistakes...LOL.

As for the typing scene in 'Terrible Life', I was wondering the same thing, too. Dean types faster than me, or is that Jensen? LOL

Oh yeah. It's usually the short ones like 'the', 'their', 'have', and I also have the same problems with 'friend'. Sometimes when I type livejournal, it comes out as 'livejorunal' LOL. Then there are long words that confuse me if I think about their spellings too hard. I just think more and I get more confused. By that time, I have MS Word to help me. :)

Five times in the last couple of weeks I typed "sexurity" when what I wanted to write was "security." Then, when I wanted to write "parties"--as in political parties--I kept typing panties. Repressed, much? :D
