I'm so happy that they chose my favourite songs as their first performances. Kris was awesome but I thought Adam was a bit shaky singing Mad World, and I don't know, I thought he looked a bit nervous there and unsure of himself which was odd. Adam had NEVER look that way before. The first time he sang that song was so much better IMO. Goes to show that the adage 'less is more' is true I guess.

But Adam came back with a vengeance with the next two songs. He totally rocked, and yeah, I absolutely agree when Simon said Adam won 2-1!

I'm just finding myself glad it's finally nearly over. I like Adam well enough, but I do think if I were to plunk down money for an album, it would more likely be Kris'.

But ugh, that Idol anthem was horrendous. *shudder* Adam screeched through it sounding like he was at the very edge of his range (a rare thing, that) and Kris forgot the forgettable lyrics (who can blame him??). I dunno. I almost feel sorry for whoever does win, since they'll have that dud for their first single.

Kris forgot his lyrics? I didn't notice that! And yes, that song was totally meh. Kara co-wrote it, didn't she? Hee, love it when Simon said he wasn't going to comment on the song itself :DD

It was a brief lapse, fortunately... I doubt many noticed it, but he stumbled on the word "mountain" I think (maybe because a hurricane was looming?? Or he knew he had to go deep and high and wasn't sure how to do both at once???? Those lyrics... *shudder*). Anyway, you could see it in his eyes, that little flash of panic but he held it together and after that point seemed to sort of go for broke with it, as much as he could with a song that was out of his range and style and was a bit of one cliche after another.

I really have to say I hope that this is Kara's one and only season. Can you tell I'm not a fan of hers? LOL

I heard rumours that Paula won't be around next season, and they're easing Kara to be the 3rd judge so to speak. Paula frustrates me most of the time but not to the point of irritation the way Kara does. I do hope the rumours are not true!

It'll be interesting to see who the judges are, and if they'll stick with a 4-judge format. I hope they don't--I dunno, but for me, for you, I'd rather hear more music than more judge chatter, personally. LOL

Yeah :) Archie had that kid thing going for him but I was like, face-palming myself when I saw Cook in that boxing get-up! Thank goodness they didn't do that this year.

I like Adam and I hope he wins, BUT:

Is it just me or did it seem like the last "official" song was written specifically for him and his voice? Poor Kris didn't have a chance in H*ll of singing that, it was so far out of his range and style. But I have to give him credit for giving it all he had anyway.

I thought Kris sounded better in that song. But Simon has made a point of promoting Simon for a month. If he didn't like the person and week after week they kept screaming the song for their own gratuitous satisfaction, he would have pointed it out. hugs you xoxoxo v

Oh Simon likes Adam alright. But last year he seemed to prefer Archie and only at the last minute he did a turnabout and apologized to Cook for some of the things he said to him ( more to save his own face if you asked me). So who Simon likes doesn't necessarily wins. And he was wrong about Hudson too!

I was very disappointed with Adam's rendition of Mad World last night. The one that he did when Simon gave him the standing ovation was a million times better. And I was so happy too that he chose that song! Hubby said Kris had that underdog thing going for him so in a way he had that advantage. But I believe he had higher number of votes than Adam last week?

I just watched it, and to be honest, i'd call it 1-1 and just forget about the last song, LOL. Honestly, i really disliked it and i don't think either of them did it particularly well. I also wasn't 100% convinced on the songs chosen for each of them, though both did them well enough.

I think Adam will win though. :)

I read somewhere that said Kris was actually leading but apparently Adam was closing the gap. I hope I won't be spoiled for the result today. I love the suspense of waiting for Seacrest to announce the winner, and I want to whoop with joy if my chosen one won! My flist is alright with the cuts, it's the internet in general that I'm worried about.

I've given up trying not to be spoiled now, lol! We don't get the performances till the Thursday night and results show on the Friday...for the first 2 or 3 seasons, i tried staying away from everything but kept getting spoiled anyway, so now i've just given in and started looking at spoilers LOL! Two days trying to avoid everything is too long for me! ;)

Kris did much better in round one, so MUCH better, but unfortunately his second and third songs didn't do anything for me.

Which one was Kris's wife? Was it the one with the baby or was it the one who looked like Reese Winterspoon?

Adam's version of Mad World seemed kind of subdued, or something; good but not great. The second song was amazing!

I'm surprised he didn't win, but maybe it'll be better for him this way, and I'm sure he'll have a great career. :)

And I thought his parents are so cool, and I love the way the family was all wearing black :)
