Survivor : Samoa - lol there's a Jack Sheppard among the survivors! [livejournal.com profile] surgicalsteel, are you rooting for Mick? Anyone else here watching Survivor?

I hate that snake in Mick's tribe. That's the part of Survivor that I really dislike - the backstabbing and everything that goes with it. And when the really awesome people got voted off first. But having said that, I think this season started off well. Love the way Mick chose the right person for each task. I'm rooting for Shambo and the lady cop as well.

As for SPN 5.02, I've yet to watch it properly on TV. I've seen it on the computer but it was amidst the hoo-hah of a family gathering so I couldn't really get to hear what was said. But I got the gist of the ending. And Dean's reference to Mount Doom. I wonder who Dean's favourite LOTR character was. My money is on Strider, but that could just be me projecting myself on Dean *g*

Anyways. I know it's cliche and all that but that saying If you love something, let it go ... etc, etc has never been truer for Sam and Dean. Doesn't mean it's not painful, it's painful as hell but I truly believe they'll find each other again. They just need their space.

And also, it tickled me that their separation made me think of married couples whose marriages are on the rock and they have to go on separation trials. And it also reminded me of what Dean said to Bobby in Tall Tales when Bobby said that Sam and Dean were like an old married couple. Yup, Bobby was right. They really are like a married couple, aren't they?

ETA: And, I think Dean said Mount Doom pit-stop? Dean watches The Amazing Race as well omg. And this season there'll be gay brothers Sam and Dan competing!

Oh boy... a little too much like a married couple, huh?

And I loved the LOTR reference.

What episode are you at now? I've only managed to download the first episode. I'm so frustrated that none of the local networks are airing it :(

Ahaha, and the next thing you know they'd be hiring PIs to know what each other is doing!

Oh good! I really hope that horrible man will be the next one to go. I want to root for Foa Foa but it's hard to do that with him there. Grrr.

Mick's a gas-passer, so I haven't decided whether to root for him or not. Actually, my understanding is that he's an anaesthesia resident, so his remark about 'you can't get through residency with a note from Mom...' well, buddy, finish residency first, and then talk about how hard you thought it was.

And the bastard who dumped out everyone's water and burned someone's socks just because? He needs to go.

I think Dean said: "Next stop, Mount Doom?"

I also think Dean's favorite character is Strider! All of a sudden, Dean's last week's remark of Michael looks like Cate Blanchett makes perfect sense now: He's a closet lotr fan! ;-)

Both Dean and Sam were so "grown up" at the end there. It hurts so much when they parted their ways, yet it also brought so much hope because it was clear they were on their way to healing. Sera Gamble did a wonderful job with the script imo.

"Pit-stop" actually comes from car racing, the pit being where you go to refuel and get tires changed during laps, and is very common in colloquial use in the US, such as for making any stops along a trip or even for going to the bathroom at any time. "Before we leave, I'm going to have to make a pit-stop..." Doesn't really have anything to do with Amazing Race except that they also use the common colloquialism.

LOTR reference was in 5.01 also. I mentioned it in my LJ.

Hope you had a nice visit with family.

I think you're right -- Dean would like Strider - or Gandalf! :D

Heheh, yeah, I know about pit-stops. It's just that I'm on this TAR-high, the premier will be next Monday, it just won the Emmy for best reality show ( 7th time in a row yay! ) and I'm stoked about the teams esp Sam and Dan so when I thought Dean said "pit-stop" ( the term for the place where the teams stop for rest at the end of each episode ) I was like, fist-in-air bouncy. Yeah, yeah, I'm sooo easily excited :DD

Thanks, Chloe. One week of family time ... I'm exhausted ;D

Mick doesn't seem aggressive but then he could just be playing the game. You know how people who talk/do too much get the boot much sooner.

I hate, what'shisname, Russell?, hate his guts but I guess the producers took him for the entertainment value. Coach from last season was a saint compared to him.

Heheh. You're right. Brothers are not supposed to be like that, right? You want to go, just go. No need to be so hard like that. *chuckles*

Oh baby, it's pit-stop! I've just been listening to it, twice :DD

And yeah, I forgot about that Cate Blanchett remark. Hee hee, he's probably secretly thinking of Sam as Sauron ;P

And he also probably think of the Impala as Shadowfax.

Btw, hon, wanna give The Amazing Race a try? It premiered on the 27th *pokes*

Miss you!

I know, right? I have two older brothers. When they fight, they just shout at each other and refuse to go to each other's houses for months. There's definitely no talks in a romantic setting complete with angsty, soulful looks exchanged between them lol.

Hope you can get some rest before you go back to work. Did your throat infection ever go away?

It's good to be easily excited because that makes it harder to get bored, lol.

It's still an on-and-off thing, unfortunately :(

I guess a visit to see a specialist is in order soon.
