I've been kind of bracing myself for another disappointment but 5.03 is awesome. It's better than the one last week and way, way better than the premier. It had me sitting at the edge of my seat, freaking out, laughing and wanting to cry from start to finish!

And I haven't said/think this about Sam/Jared for a long time but I thought he was amazing in it. That episode reminded me of why Sam was the brother I fell in love first back in season 1.

Getting a glimpse of how it must be like for Dean when he was hunting on his own when Sam was in Stanford, it just made me want to cry. What a lonely life. And sad.

Lovelovelove Castiel. Misha Collins was close to perfect in it *smishes him*

I've never got the Castiel/Dean slash vibe before but I got it full blast this time ( that tie-fixing omg! ). Oh I adore Castiel from the very first, and I love him with Dean but to me, it was more like a big brother/protector/guardian/friend kind of thing. Sam had Ruby, and Dean had, has, his Castiel but yeah, now I do get the Dean/Castiel thing. Sam/Dean is still my OTP though, so I probably won't go looking for the Dean/Castiel fics. Yet.

And the ending? It's creepy as hell, I got goosebumps just thinking about that scene. Though in all probability, I think I'd be disappointed if it were to come down to Michael!Dean v Lucifer!Sam. Is it too much/too cliche to ask for a SamandDean v HeavenandHell?

Oh it's a lovely episode, Vee! I didn't think I'd enjoy it because just the idea of the boys being separated made me want to weep ( it did made me tear up a little ) but the episode per se was superbly done I think.

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode. The boys look so lost without each other. Dean plays it big brother to Castiel and Sam tries so hard to refuse his hunting nature.

It moved me so much when Dean said he'd help Castiel find his father. I think it was very much the "been there done that" kind of thing for him. And poor Castiel. He looked so lost, too!

I agree with you, Jared was fantastic in that episode. I love it because I have no idea where they're going to go next with the show, and it keeps my off balance, which is what a drama/adventure/dark fantasy should do.

I've no idea where they're going after this too. But I do know one thing, I want them back together and I want it to be done as awesomely as possible!

I adored this episode, from the personal space to the help dressing.

Sam bless his heart can't catch a break.

Castiel was super adorable, wasn't he? I was this close to literally rolling on the floor laughing when he didn't know what to do with his FBI ID, and it was upside down omg!

Though I can't help thinking that the whole Castiel comedy thingie was his subtle way of comforting Dean, keep his mind off Sam. Or something like that.

I loved it too! It was nice to see Dean happy again. I mean, it has been a long time since we saw him just relax and have a little fun. It's not an indictment against Sam or anything... I've seen so many people get offended by Dean saying something about that and it's not what I mean. I think we both know Dean would take being with Sammy over anything in the world. I heard there were some deleted scenes where both Dean and Sam see people that resemble their brother, look hopeful for a minute and then get disappointed when it turns out they're mistaken. I would have loved to see those scenes.

Misha was hilarious! His face during that bordello scene was just too much! I'm not a Dean/Castiel shipper but I liked their interaction. There's trust and genuine caring going on. It's nice.

I can't see how Dean would let Michael in unless it has something to do with saving Sam. During S4, I was always worried that Sam would be Lucifer's vessel, but that mutual shirt grab at the end of 4.22 kinda made it clear that as long as the boys are together, it's not gonna happen. Sure, they're apart now but we all know it's temporary. When they're together, they're a force to be reckoned with so both heaven and hell better watch out! LOL

I haven't had time to go through the review posts yet. Oh dear, there're wanks over this amazing episode as well? *shakes head*

I don't know if I'd ever forgive Sam if he were to let Lucifer in.

The deleted scenes sound AWESOME!!! I do hope we'll get to see them in the S5 DVD!

There's trust and genuine caring going on.

Very much so *nods*

I just reread something Kripke said about S5...

it's about “building Sam and Dean back up in a way that makes them older, sadder, wiser, and, ultimately, stronger. It’s funny, we’ve been feeling in many ways that this is the most optimistic season of Supernatural we’ve ever done. Because even though the exterior circumstances are a massive cluster f–k, internally, the boys aren’t tearing each other apart every episode. It’s more like, ‘Hey, maybe we’ll lose, but, dammit, let’s go down swinging.’”

Knowing this, it's hard to imagine the series ending with a Michael!Dean vs. Lucifer!Sam battle. I'm optimistic too!

I loved this ep! I've read spoilers up to ep 10, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all of it.

I don't like every development I've seen, or heard of, but many seem pretty awesome. I have faith that Kripke has not left the building. I think it will be a bumpy ride, but will be worth it in the end.

This show is just one of those things that can't possibly satisfy every fan, because people are watching for a lot of different reasons. What will please one person will make another turn away in disgust, but that's just the nature of television. I can't wait till next week!

I don't think I really mind the contents as much as how it was done. Good script, good directing, good acting - you have all those and it'd probably make Sam and Dean hating each other seem good!

Oh how I miss Kim Manners! And Raelle Tucker.

I think it was a necessary development. Doesn't mean I liked it, but once I got over my initial anger, I could see good reasons for it.

But you're right, between Kim Manners and Raelle Tucker, the show is missing some of its brightest talent. Raelle went on to be a writer/producer for True Blood, and I'm sure the show benefited from it, but I do wish she'd stayed with Supernatural.

I think I wouldn't be this antsy for the final finale if at least one of those two writers were still around. Kripke kinda struck me as a ... loose canon, for want of a better word. Oh well, he did create those boys ...

Yeah, Kripke's good for something, huh? :) I'm fairly sure I know where's he's going with all this, but it might not turn out the way we expect. I'm just impatient to see how everything unfolds from here on out.

It's the first time I think that I truly appreciated Misha's acting talent (oh, maybe I loved him in his first two episodes as well, but then he sort of lost the edge for me). He was awesomely funny. :)

But what I really loved was Jared's performance here. He totally outdid himself. The best of him to date, in my opinion. Do you know that this episode was directed by J. Tobin, the same guy who directed "Heaven and Hell"? I guess he's growing to become one of my favorites directors, for what he's capable of pulling out of those actors. It has to be more than a coincidence.

I was really impressed with Jared. He was good in every scene, especially the ones with Jess and Lucifer. And the hunters. And the girl whatshername?

Hee, Misha and Jensen have good chemistry, ya?

You singled out a lot of the same stuff I did, but I forgot about the tie-fixing. Eeep! That was hot.

I loved this episode!

Ahaha, the secret to enjoying SPN - not to have too high an expectation of it! Or something like that :))

I wonder whether Oselle would come out of her hiatus and make a post on this episode.

Btw, I was totally unspoiled for Jess so yeah, that was pretty AWESOME!!

Jared was brilliant in this episode! I cheered when he spit out the blood, I almost cried when he told Jessica that's there's hope for him, and Lucifer said "no, there isn't". And Dean... he really isn't happy, but he can't admit it to himself. Oh, boys.

I flinched a little when he called Castiel "tiger" though. That was what he called Sam in Pilot!

Oh dear, not a fan of Castiel then? I love him from the moment he made his grand entrance in 4.01 and I'm happy that Dean had him when Sam was off with Ruby. But being a Sam/Dean girl myself, I do get where you're coming from *hugs you*

It's just that I didn't want Castiel to be a substitute for Sam, and in many of those scenes, they set it up like that.

The brother bond is the core of the show for me, and I want the boys to be closest to each other. :)

Those two, Jensen and Misha really complimented each other, didn't they? Castiel with his deadpan expressions and Dean being so adorably exasperated with his new "partner"!!

The Dean & Cas Show is pretty darn funny. :-) And Dean speaks Hebrew! I was a little disappointed in Raphael--didn't seem all that intimidating or interesting for an archangel. Do you happen to know in what language Cas' spell was spoken in Raphael's vessel's ear? Dying to know.

I was thinking about Sam today--I sure hope he doesn't keep the news about Lucifer's vessel to himself. No more keeping secrets, boys! Sam is so overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow, and he doesn't have anybody to lean on. No Dean, of course by mutual choice, but I also noticed how Ellen totally ignored him in 5.02 as if he wasn't even there. And he's never been as close to Bobby as Dean has been. Maybe that's understandable considering, but when people are so isolated they have a really hard time staying on the right path and avoiding becoming self-destructive and Sam has NOBODY right now, which makes him doubly vulnerable to negative influence. At least Dean has Cas and Bobby and Ellen.

Finally, it is now Dean's turn for a shirtless scene. Note to Kripke.

:-)

I have no idea what that language was. But we were laughing our heads off when we thought that we heard him say "Nokia", especially after the "open phone" line. Heheh, I wouldn't put it past Misha to add in that word lol.

There's something just so sexy when a man fixed up another's tie. And it's soooo HOT when Dean's the one doing it. Heck, I think it'd be sexy even if he were to do it to Bobby!!
