It's like Terminator Salvation meets Misha's Nip/Tuck meets leonidaslion's Suite!verse. Did Kripke read Suite? I bet he did. I was half-expecting Sam to drag Dean by the scruff of his collar to wherever it was he was staying. And the McG connection was there. And Manny Skerritt!

I have only one complaint. Future!Dean looked exactly like present!Dean. I mean, come on. Heh, by the look of it we'd never ever get to see scruffy!Dean and scruffy!Sam.

And the end? I cried ... it was so Perfect. I can't ask for more. Well, maybe for the scruffy part but you can't get everything, can you?

I love my show. I really, really do.

Did ya notice when Dean asked what Lucifer!Sam wanted to do, Lucifer!Sam walked away to gently touch the red rose?! Talk about subconscious! =p

But I thought there's something so different about future!Dean that he appeared so distinct from the present!Dean. Hubby and I talked about it, and I think future!Dean is edgier. Not only there's subtle difference in the makeup but also future!Dean's facial expression and body movements are crisper. I dunno, I'll watch again sometime today and decide...

I loved it, too! I would have expected future!Dean to have some facial scars or something to make him more distinct. A little scruffiness would definitely have been more credible!

But overall, it was pretty awesome.

But you know what? We still haven't seen Evil!Sam, as in Sam himself actually going evil.

Oooh, I think Lucifer!Sam wanted to swallow Dean whole! :DDD But yeah, Sam touching that rose, now that you mentioned it, it was very telling!!

Overall, yes, future!Dean was different from present!Dean - more ruthless, and like you said, edgier. I just wished they changed his appearance a bit!

What's so difficult about changing Dean's appearance? *huffs* It won't do any harm to make him appear older with more marks ( and hair ) on his face!

There's a whole backstory to Sam going evil there - five years of them in fact. It'd be awesome if we got to see that too!

But the point is Dean never change. Sure, he was hardened, became ruthless even. But fundamentally he's still the same. That's why I think he understand 2009!Dean would still make the same decision.

Besides 2014!Dean is so pretty. Prettier than 2009!Dean I thought. =p

I think the difference was in the demeanor and personality shift. I mean it would have been great if he'd been a little more worn but hell I love him whatever way I can get him.

Now Dean was looking scruffier then future Dean. I could tell the difference from them not just cause of the clothes but future Dean had this expression that he seen some serious shit that Now Dean hasnt.

Jensen was wonderful. The differences weren't physical, but you could see that he'd gotten harder and more controlling. And Sam was wonderful as Lucifer. Wow.

This season keeps getting better and better. I can now breathe eaisier, you know, and more hopeful about them fighting both heaven and hell together. Eeeeeeeeee Angel, last night episode made me so happy that I had trouble sleeping, I kept thinking about it!

Oh the difference was there, subtle but there, and maybe it was better that way. It emphasized Jensen's acting ability for him to show the difference through the fine nuances and all. It's just shallow me wanted to see some obvious physical differences - got a scruffy!boys kink there :D

I would seriously have expected Dean to have an obvious facial scar, or to at least look a lot older and scruffier. The fact that he looked pretty much just the same didn't make much sense to me. With everything he's undoubtedly gone through in that five years, I would expect that to really age a person.

It sounded to me like Sam resisted going evil until very recently, because Dean said (when they "lost" Sam in Chicago) they hadn't talked in five years, So it seems to me he refused for a long time, and he and Dean were fighting on the same team, till he finally gave in. I had the impression it was because there was so much loss of life, and Sam was hoping to save more people if he had more control, but sadly I think he had less control than ever when letting Lucifer take over.

But yes, I expect at least eleventy-billion stories about that five year period, for both the guys.

I'm thinking that they were probably restrained by budgets or something to make Dean look older? Maybe. Because it really didn't make sense to me to see Dean not a day older than he was in 2009. If future!Dean lived a life of luxury, yes, but not when he was living in a world of chaos, heading a team of guerilla-like fighters with a little brother who was Lucifer!

I knew that there'd be a future episode before the episode was aired but I thought it was going to be maybe 20 or 30 years down the line, with the boys old and grizzled, and maybe ( this is wishful me thinking ) all domesticated with a couple of cats, sitting on their rocking chairs, bickering like an old married couple!

I was thinking of a hug too, but I think the boys are still at the awkward, getting-back-together stage. Haha, the way they were sort of circling each other, both not sure how to do the reunion thing :))

Omg, two Deans for one whole episode! That dream scene in Dream A Little Dream Of Me was good too, but that was just one scene and we had been gifted with two Deans last night! THANK YOU KRIPKE I LOVE YOU!!!

And just when you thought you couldn't love him any MORE!! Though to be honest, I'm actually less than thrilled with human!Castiel but oh Oxer, Castiel saying "we have an appointment", and Dean saying to him "don't change" ( a heartfelt yes to that ), and Castiel using the phone omg! Love him!!

Yes, the only thing missing was a scruffy Dean. And a couple of battle scars of course. I couldn't come up with words when I saw Sam as Lucifer. It was just...ugh. Then, there was sweet Cas. He's quickly climbing up the ranks of 'men who make me melt' but no one can replace Dean. No one. :)

And I love Castiel just standing by the roadside because Dean said so, and when he zapped Dean back to 2009 ... I was just about to spontaneously combust/implode/explode. And that last scene with Sam and Dean ... *cries with the awesomeness of it*

I loved this ep!

Maybe filming Jensen as two separate characters in one scene was so time consuming, they decided to keep his appearance the same? I dunno, lol. Anyway, Jared and Jensen were both brilliant! I love that Dean got a chance to see his future self, and the lessons he learned from that. And LuciferSam; his eyes were so expressive, so sympathetic and chilling at the same time.

The ending made me cry. They keep each other human! And Dean said "love' when he talked to Sam in that earlier scene. :)

Yeah, I think that's it. Castiel didn't meet up with his past self so there was no problem in changing his appearance but Dean and Dean had quite a number of scenes together.

There was no trace of Sam at all in Lucifer, except physically of course so yeah, Jared did that extremely well.

And I squeed so much when Dean said "love".

I really like that the storyline is speeding along to its conclusion. Now we have what we wanted all along ~ the boys working together on the same side. ! love that Sam told Dean about Lucifer immediately because it sets them up for not keeping secrets anymore. This is such a good sign! These boys make me so happy!

I've seen people speculating that the brothers would get back after together after 6 or 7 episodes. I'm so very glad that it took only two! It'd be interesting to see how Castiel would fit in with the dynamic duo.

And yes, season 5 has been so good so far, unlike season 4, heartache right from the time Dean found his brother with Ruby.
