Heart To Heart by wave_obscura. Gen, completed.

An awesome and brilliant story, set post Faith, AU, in which Dean wasn't cured by the healer. And I have no idea how I missed this story when it was first posted many months ago. Read it for the heart-wrenching story that is Sam at the end of his tether, a Sam desperate and angry and frustrated with himself, with Dean, with life. A story in which the brothers themselves are the case, the hunt, and Sam races against time to save Dean from things that go beyond Dean's failing heart.

I can't reccommend this higly enough. And on hindsight, I'm glad that I only just found this story because I just can't imagine the agony of waiting for the next update!

And speaking of 'Faith', here are two more fics, codas to that episode, which I love dearly.

At Night by pixel_0. Gen, PG, 2500 words. Kleenex warning! An exquisite story.

Summary :There is no healer to cure Dean. As such, the brothers must grapple with their present together and possible future apart.

The Healer by mews1945. SPN / The Faculty crossover. PG 13, 8900+ words. Sam and Dean meet Casey and Zeke from the Faculty fanfic Family. It's good if you knew 'Family' but if you didn't, it's Casey from 'The Faculty' with special healing powers which he got after the alien invasion, Sam and Dean heard about him, and Sam brought Dean to see Casey on the off-chance that Casey might be able to heal Dean. A fascinating story, and seeing Casey and Zeke and Sam and Dean together like that, that was simply amazing.

Naw, not so much into The Faculty, even though I loved Josh Hartnett. I think I vaguely remember watching it, but I can't remember. My favourite Josh Hartnett movie was and always will be Wicker Park.

And damn it. Have I mentioned before that I am a weakling and therefore have no willpower and therefore have just spent the last 20 minutes with my fist pressed at my mouth to keep myself from bawling reading At Night? Because yeah. *bawls on the inside*

The second one, At Night is a death!fic but Heart To Heart is not. Dean was really put through the wringer though, and it was a wild, heart-breaking ride before they got their happy ending. The Healer is an awesome crossover, and no, it's not a death!fic either.
