I don't celebrate Halloween and I have no talent whatsoever with Photoshop, but [livejournal.com profile] daisychain1957 pointed me out to this fun site and ta-da! :D

AXN will be showing The Exorcism of Emily Rose tonight.

At 1 am.

I freaked out when I saw it on DVD in broad daylight. But it's an awesome movie, it's super scary, right up there with The Exorcist IMO ( I haven't seen Paranormal Acticity ), based on a true story - and I dare you to click on the exorcism clip on the site above. Gave me nightmare for weeks, it did.

Have fun you guys who're doing Halloween. I'm looking forward to reading about your (mis)adventures!

ETA WOOT!!! They used this
Photobucket for their halloween article on one of our local papers! Read the online version here.

Cool photos!

I haven't seen The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but now I'm curious. I heard good things about Jennifer Carpenter's performance. She plays Deb, Dexter's sister (on Dexter). She's also married to Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter. Obviously they're not worried about the "incestuous" implications of playing brother and sister. Maybe Jared and Jensen will be inspired? :)

I just finished watching Medium, and there was a character named Edward (or Edgar) Kripke. They kept referring to him as Kripke, and my mother didn't understand why I was laughing. I don't think it was just a coincidence, either!

A shout-out to Kripke!!

Emily's a wondeful story. I don't usually go for that kind of stories, it took me ages before I finally decided to watch SPN heheh, but the storyline intrigued me so I gave it a go.

Emily was a young girl diagnosed with schizophrenia - she saw and heard things. Her family was the type who believed in possesion and demons and stuff so they brought her to see a priest who said that her schizo meds should be stopped as he fully believed that Emily was genuinely possessed. She died while in the priest's care. This story was told from the POV of the lawyer who took the case ( the family pressed charges against the priest ) as well as flashbacks from the time Emily was still alive. And apparently the tape used in the film was actual footage/audio from the real exorcism. CREEPY!!!

I'll give Dexter a try though Jennifer Carpenter would probably give me the creeps, remembering Emily Rose!

Hee, I love that site!

I'm such a wimp- I can't watch horror movies!!

Neither can I actually. I gave that one a try because I thought it was court drama more than a horror one. In a way it was, but the scary, creepy parts were so chilling and realistic that I can't remember the court scenes much, but I remember the exorcism scene very clearly, like I just watched it yesterday *shivers*

I really really want to do something with that first graphic, but I have no idea what. Can I add it to my ideas folder? If anything ever comes of it, I'll link back here, of course.

Oooooooooohh YES, please do write something about it!! When I saw that graphic, my first thought was of someone dealing with voodoo, black magic sort of thing, and the picture in the frame was of someone whom the owner of the skull/desk/book worshipped ...

Or it could be Sam during his Dean-in-hell thing.

I'm very much looking forward to reading what you'd come up with!

Love the photos! :)

I actually saw a part of The Exorcism of Emily Rose before on HBO but I didn't have the courage to finish it so I switched channels, although I saw The Exorcist from start to finish. After that, I couldn't stand to be alone in a room! I swear!

I saw The Exorcist when I was quite young, and again when I was in med school together with a bunch of friends. Until now I can't get the images of Linda Blair with her head turned 360 degrees, her spewing out the vomit and the floating bed.

Did you manage to get to the exorcism part in Emily Rose? Hearing those different voices coming out of her ... eeeeeeeeeeeeps. And the original audio used from the real Emily Rose *was scared shitless*

I don't remember seeing any exorcism in Emily Rose but I want to watch it again. I'm getting curious enough to risk scaring myself.

I've seen the sequels and prequels to The Exorcist and nothing beats the fright I experienced in the first movie.

The psychiatric aspect of Emily Rose was quite interesting. Thankfully I've never encountered one personally. A colleague was on call at the Accident and Emergency one night and a patient came in, possessed. But of course as a doctor he had to put the diagnosis as psychosis with schizophrenia but according to him, the patient's voice wasn't like hers at all and it took ten men to restrain her!

That's creepy! I've never heard schizophrenic patients with a different voice and the most number of men I've actually seen restrain a patient are four. Any idea if your colleague's patient was really possessed?

No idea. He gave her injection halaperidol and refered her stat to a proper psychiatric hospital ( our hospital was a small, district one and had no proper facilities to handle violent patients ).

You could click the link to Emily Rose I gave you in my post above ( if you dare ). It has audio of the exorcism of the original Emily Rose I think. I didn't dare to click on it myself, what I heard in the movie was enough - the demonic voices coming out of that young woman. And apparently she was possessed by seven demons at one time!

Awww..the Jensen manip is cooool! Jared's too of course. :D

*snags them both*

And the newspaper pic. They should put YED or something scarier than the holding hands thing. That pic is Valentinish. :D

Forgot about Emily Rose. Our local TV also showed the same movie. So we had same movie in 2 channels.

I wanted to watch Emily Rose but no one else wanted to watch it with me and I so didn't want to watch it alone!

They should re-use that pic for Valentine next year hee hee.

But Emily Rose is not scary. Yes, it's very thrilling, but it's just like watching Bloody Mary. I think "Shutter" is scarier. That's a remake of a Japanese movie, with Joshua Jackson in it. But after watching it for 3 more times, the scary factor is gone.
Or Exorcist: The Beginning, Renny Harlin's version. Do not watch Paul Schrader's version. That's nothing scary in his movie.
Now, Harlin's version. THAT'S SCARY. Because one of the leads was possessed by Lucifer. *shivers*
