Oct. 31st, 2009 01:00 pmI don't celebrate Halloween and I have no talent whatsoever with Photoshop, but
daisychain1957 pointed me out to this fun site and ta-da! :D

AXN will be showing The Exorcism of Emily Rose tonight.
At 1 am.
I freaked out when I saw it on DVD in broad daylight. But it's an awesome movie, it's super scary, right up there with The Exorcist IMO ( I haven't seen Paranormal Acticity ), based on a true story - and I dare you to click on the exorcism clip on the site above. Gave me nightmare for weeks, it did.
Have fun you guys who're doing Halloween. I'm looking forward to reading about your (mis)adventures!
ETA WOOT!!! They used this
for their halloween article on one of our local papers! Read the online version here.

Date: 2009-10-31 05:08 am (UTC)I haven't seen The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but now I'm curious. I heard good things about Jennifer Carpenter's performance. She plays Deb, Dexter's sister (on Dexter). She's also married to Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter. Obviously they're not worried about the "incestuous" implications of playing brother and sister. Maybe Jared and Jensen will be inspired? :)
I just finished watching Medium, and there was a character named Edward (or Edgar) Kripke. They kept referring to him as Kripke, and my mother didn't understand why I was laughing. I don't think it was just a coincidence, either!

Date: 2009-10-31 05:25 am (UTC)Emily's a wondeful story. I don't usually go for that kind of stories, it took me ages before I finally decided to watch SPN heheh, but the storyline intrigued me so I gave it a go.
Emily was a young girl diagnosed with schizophrenia - she saw and heard things. Her family was the type who believed in possesion and demons and stuff so they brought her to see a priest who said that her schizo meds should be stopped as he fully believed that Emily was genuinely possessed. She died while in the priest's care. This story was told from the POV of the lawyer who took the case ( the family pressed charges against the priest ) as well as flashbacks from the time Emily was still alive. And apparently the tape used in the film was actual footage/audio from the real exorcism. CREEPY!!!
I'll give Dexter a try though Jennifer Carpenter would probably give me the creeps, remembering Emily Rose!

Date: 2009-11-01 04:12 pm (UTC)I actually saw a part of The Exorcism of Emily Rose before on HBO but I didn't have the courage to finish it so I switched channels, although I saw The Exorcist from start to finish. After that, I couldn't stand to be alone in a room! I swear!

Date: 2009-11-02 12:06 am (UTC)Did you manage to get to the exorcism part in Emily Rose? Hearing those different voices coming out of her ... eeeeeeeeeeeeps. And the original audio used from the real Emily Rose *was scared shitless*

Date: 2009-11-03 11:15 pm (UTC)You could click the link to Emily Rose I gave you in my post above ( if you dare ). It has audio of the exorcism of the original Emily Rose I think. I didn't dare to click on it myself, what I heard in the movie was enough - the demonic voices coming out of that young woman. And apparently she was possessed by seven demons at one time!

Date: 2009-11-02 09:02 am (UTC)*snags them both*
And the newspaper pic. They should put YED or something scarier than the holding hands thing. That pic is Valentinish. :D
Forgot about Emily Rose. Our local TV also showed the same movie. So we had same movie in 2 channels.

Date: 2009-11-02 09:14 am (UTC)Or Exorcist: The Beginning, Renny Harlin's version. Do not watch Paul Schrader's version. That's nothing scary in his movie.
Now, Harlin's version. THAT'S SCARY. Because one of the leads was possessed by Lucifer. *shivers*
