layne67A lot of the scenes reminded me of LotR. The stone warriors that came to life - Black Riders, yeah? The slow-mo, the cape and the hood, the Darth-Vader sound effects. Arthur and Merlin at the pub looking for Balinor, that made me think of the hobbits looking for Gandalf at The Prancing Pony. Balinor himself reminded me of Aragorn. He didn't really look like Aragorn, just the hair. When Arthur and Merlin were settling down to sleep, I was picturing the stone warriors coming to stab them in their beds! And when Balinor died with Merlin crying over him, I half-expected Balinor to say "Captain. My King."
Oh Morgana ... I guess she won't be in Uther's household next season. That made me a bit sad. And I'm still flaily whenever Arthur called Gwen "Guinevere". Guinevere, Guinevere, Guinevere - that sounds so sexy when said by Arthur!
So they only made 13 episodes per season? I remember wondering why Hallmark had suddenly stopped airing Merlin during the first season, I didn't realize that the last episode was actually the finale!
What're your favourite episodes of Merlin season 2? I enjoyed the one with the troll very much, I thought the actress who played Lady Catrine was simply awesome. And the last two episodes of course!
Does anyone here remember that old show Mr Merlin? Me as a kid, I loved that show a lot! Can't really remember the details just that I really adored that story.
ETA : I find the discussion thread here somewhat interesting. My own thoughts? I can't wait to see Guinevere all made up. I think she's a sweetheart as she is now but she'll be a real beauty once she becomes the queen. If the show's heading that way that is.
